Chapter 10: You Want Me to What?!

I later got another text telling me to get dressed up for dinner tonight.

This person must be really important to Mikey if he wants me to get dressed up. I thought.

I wore a descent looking outfit (image above) to my brother's. As I was about to walk out the door a certain someone caught me by the hand, spinning me around.

"Well don't you look stunning." Patty said.

"Thanks. I've got a hot date." I joked.

Patty faked a hurt gasp, dramatically placing his hand on his chest, "How could you? After everything we've been through!"

After my drama queen was done, he began to pout. "What am I going to do without you here to entertain me?"

I continued laugh softly and pulled him into a quick kiss. "Go hang out with luke or Bribry. Ive got to go. I love you, Patty."

He kissed back, "Fine. Love you, too, babe."

I smiled and walked out texting Mikey that I was on my way.

When I arrived at Mikey's small apartment, I noticed that there were four seats set up in the kitchen. Everything was all set up for dinner.

Mikey guided me to the table where his girlfriend, Melody, was and gestured me to take a seat by Mikey's chair. I didn't argue and sat in the chair.

"So who else are we waiting for?" I asked. "My cousin. He's being stubborn and won't come out of the guest room. I'm going to go check on him."

Then she left.

"Who's her cousin and why do you want me to met him?"

Mikey kindly laid his hand on mine. "Give it time and all of your questions will be answered, little sister."

Shortly after Melody and wait..LUKE?!

The two of us just stared at each other. He looked just as confused as I was "Hey, Luke." I said with a wave.
"Hi, Candy." He waved back.

Melody clapped her hands happily. "Isn't this lovely l, you two already know each other! Now it will be easier for us to tell you the news, Candy!"

I raised an eyebrow, "What news?" I asked as Luke sat there slouching with an angry look on his face.

"That they're forcing you and I into an arranged marriage!" He suddenly yelled.

I looked at Mikey. "YOU WANT ME TO WHAT?!" I stood up angrily. "No offense to Luke, but no. I'm not marrying him. I don't love him."

Like stood as well. "And Mel, you sure as hell know who I love."

"Candy, you don't get to pick who you love! Not after I caught you with that piece of trash, Patty Walters, again!" Mikey yelled.

"Patty isnt trash!" Luke yelled, "he's one of my best friends and he would give the shirt off his back for anyone, even a scumbag like you!"

"He tried to rape my sister!"

"Mikey, we only kissed! Jeez stop taking things above and beyond what they are!" Then I stormed out in a ball of tears.

"You two are getting married whether you like it or not!" Was the last thing I heard.

I immediately called Patty as I made my way to the music store.

"Hey, Candy. How did dinner go?"

"Patty can you get the car and pick me up at the music store? Its going to be a long walk home in the rain." I sniffled.

"Yeah I'll be there as soon as I can. You better tell me what happened when I get there."

"Alright."

Eventually Patty did come and I quickly got in the car before the rain started to pour. The we drove away.

"So what happened back there?" He asked.

"You should pull over before I say. I don't want to wreck and take the risk of losing you."

Patty did as I asked and pulled over. He moved around in his seat and faced me. He sweetly took his hand in mine. "Now talk." He said softly.

Tears found their way to my cheeks and ran their little marathon down them. "Mikey is trying to put me in an arranged marriage..." I managed to say through the tears and wheezing.

"What?! Why?! With who?!"

"Mikey snd his girlfriend planned it. Im supposed to be engaged to her cousin."

Patty took a second to take this in. "Who's her cousin? Is he against the marriage?"

"He acted the same as I did. This is where it gets weird. In all the time I knew Melody I have never met the cousin she speaks so highly of." I said calming down myself. "And its a really close friend of ours."

"If he's a friend of ours, then I dont have to worry about him being hotter than me because I am the one. Who is it?"

"He is not funny, he is not smart, but most of all.." I said hoping Patty knew I'm quoting Luke's outro.

He took a second to think. "Luke is not sexy! Oh my god they want you to marry Luke Cutforth? Why? As funny as it is, you're mine and I'm yours. I know Luke wouldn't do anything that I'd do to you." He winked.

"Because, Patty, everything we have was because i won that contes. It all started at Warp Your."

Patty pulled me into his lap, burying his face in my hair. "Yeah...I regret nothing."
