"Hahaha! Don't you know? All this time, Retak'ka had his headquarters in that galaxy, the Milky Way ..."

No, this was impossible. But Vargoba didn't seem to be lying. And if it was true that this big villain had been living in the Milky Way ...

"Latest news. The United Nations has formed a military alliance of all member states with four headquarters in Washington, Moscow, Bern, and Kuala Lumpur ..."

... That means, Retak'ka had attacked Earth at that time.

"Earth needs help! Mayday! Mayday!"

Who could help them? Earth had just survived the Coronavirus pandemic and they were under alien attack.

"TAPOPS needs people who are willing to fight for galactic peace. Do you want to participate?"

Maskmana's question all those years ago still echoed in Solar's head today. Would he want to participate? Did he want to, or did he have to, out of option?

"...Solar. Captain Solar!"

The owner of the name snapped out of his wandering thoughts. Warmaster Pyrapi was still waiting for his response after their lengthy discussion about what power spheres TAPOPS had recorded and how to counteract each power, if Retak'ka had one as well.

"Forgive me, Warmaster," Solar said, and then he took a deep breath. "I think it's likely that Retak'ka's base is on the planet Venus."

"The second closest planet to the sun?"

"That's right, Warmaster. The planet Mercury has no atmosphere, nothing can survive there."

"Is there an atmosphere on Venus?" Koko Ci asked. "There's only life on the third planet, Earth and beyond."

Solar hesitated a bit, digging back into his knowledge of the solar system. "There is, but the pressure on the surface is also heavy. But isn't there a TAPOPS branch headquarters on Mars? Jupiter and Neptune are the same. If Retak'ka was targeting the sun, he wouldn't have set up his base on an empty planet too far away."

"Let me offer another guess," Kaizo said across the table. "We don't know what Retak'ka's power is yet, but he's after the biggest source of power in the Milky Way, and Captain Solar thinks it's the sun." Kaizo gave Solar a sharp look. "Are there no stars greater than the sun in the Milky Way?"

"There are other stars that are brighter and larger, Captain Kaizo," Solar replied firmly. "But none are of a temperature and distance safe enough for another planet like our sun."

"Why are you so sure Retak'ka is targeting the sun?" Kaizo demanded.

Solar was silent for a long time. It wasn't that he doubted his hunch, but he wasn't sure he wanted to reveal the story that had led him to believe it.
