I glanced around, feeling satisfied with the room. Maybe this school wasn't so bad after all. I wasn't looking forward to visiting my parents actually, I'd rather just stay here. I know they're expecting some big change, but it simply won't happen.
I was deeply stuck in my own web of thoughts.
That was until the door opened and Chan walked in.
Yes.
Bang Chan. My ex.
My eyes widened in shock and he looked at me, his jaw dropping.
"Felix-" he began, but he was interrupted as another person barged in. This time a taller male with short black hair, though I didn't get a good look at him as he was busy with dragging in his suitcase
"Channie are you my roommate?" I asked nervously, chewing on my nails. He shook his head, gritting his teeth. "No, I'm not. But Hyunjin is. I was just showing him around." Chan explained, glancing back at the taller male who finally looked up, a strand of hair hanging over his eyes that he pushed back.
"Hyunjin? As in motel Hyunjin?" I questioned, standing up. He smiled suddenly as he got a good look at my face.
"Lee Felix, the runaway boy." Hyunjin teased, setting down his bag and suitcase and walking closer. Chan rolled his eyes, excusing himself blatantly.
"You cut your hair?" I questioned, motioning to the short black hair. "No, my mother did. In my sleep. And might I say she did a pretty shit job at it so I had to go to the hairdressers anyway." He explained, sitting down on the couch.
"You know, I was gonna ask for your number before you ran off, so I guess it was fate we are roommates." He teased, ruffling my hair as I sat down beside him.
"I guess so.." I giggled, playfully nudging against him.

After a few minutes of catching up, Hyunjin suggested we go and get some groceries to keep the kitchen stocked. And also so we could make dinner tonight.
I agreed, grabbing my things and following him closely behind as he exited the school, walking towards his car and getting in.
He smiled at me, turning on the radio and drove in a comfortable silence. We eventually made it to the supermarket and I ran inside, excited to buy food. I had thought a bit about making brownies, my signature dish. Which I decided was a great idea as a gift for Hyunjin after he let me stay at the motel.
Hyunjin followed in shortly after locking the car, walking towards the milk bread and picking up a pack. He then held them up to me, grinning like a child.
"Ive been craving some milk bread since I got here." Hyunjin explained, dropping the bread into the trolley. I giggled, pinching his cheeks as I slowly made my way through the fruit isle, picking up various fruits and vegetables.
After I finished browsing the aisle I had collected some apples, grapes, carrots, cabbage and yoghurt
Hyunjin simply followed behind like a lost puppy, dropping things in the cart here and there. We moved on to the meat isle where I grabbed chicken, pork belly and beef.
"Geez Lix, that's a lot. What do you like the most?" Hyunjin asked, pointing to the wide variety of meats I had picked up.
"Personally I prefer chicken because it's meat, but we need all of it trust me. I'm basically a chef." I bragged, picking up some pre-made kimchi and rice cakes. Hyunjin raised a brow, "aren't they all meat?" He pointed out, making me groan. "to-may-to to-mah-to." I responded, gently slapping his arm.
Hyunjin left and returned shortly after with some coffee pods, claiming he had seen a coffee machine in the dorm.
I chuckled, not a big coffee drinker myself.
I picked up some hot chocolate and pancake batter, my favourite breakfast food when prepared correctly.
Hyunjin smiled, "are you going to make pancakes Felix?"
"I'll try!" I giggled, finally ending the shop with some ice cream.
Hyunjin insisted to pay but I hesitated considering most of it was mine.
"It's fine, really. Think of it as a welcome gift or something." He joked, running ahead and paying before I could get out my card.
"But it was supposed to be a thank you for the motel thing, and like how you drove me home and let me stay at your house! I haven't done anything for you yet~" I whined, tugging on his sleeve as he chuckled.
We left the store bickering like little kids, attracting the attention of a few people around us. Hyunjin and I both carried around 2 bags, and he kept plucking the grapes from the stem and eating them as we walked.
I sighed, "Hyunjin they aren't clean, wait until we get back." He simply frowned in response, shrugging as he continued to munch on the grapes.
"So.." he mumbled, swallowing the grape. "You and Chan were a thing?" He questioned, turning to look at me briefly. I nodded, pursing my lips.
"How long?"
"Hm?"
"How long did you date?"
"Uhh... around two years I think." I murmured, sighing.
"Why'd you break up? If you don't mind me asking.." Hyunjin questioned, eyeing me in curiosity.
"My uh, my parents became suspicious, so I broke it off with him, but I didn't tell him why because I knew he wouldn't understand." I explained, turning the corner into our dorm building.
Hyunjin hummed, "that must've been hard." He pointed out, making me sigh. "Yes it was. He's still so kind to me though. But he hates to see me with other guys, he says it's because I wouldn't even tell him why we broke up.".
"Huh." he exclaimed, chuckling. "And uh.. what about you? Do you still have feelings for him?" Hyunjin asked, fumbling in his pocket to find the keys.
I glanced at him, hesitating as I admired his sculpted jawline. "Is this an interview or something? Why are you asking so many questions?" I blurted, resulting in us both laughing.
"Do you, though?" He asked once we had calmed down. I shrugged, "I don't know." I replied honestly. I really didn't.
He glanced at me for a moment, almost as if he was trying to read my expression. He eventually nodded, finally unlocking the door.
