There's always a price to Pay

||Hailey POV||

"Z-Zander..why?! I trust him!" I shout.

"But we don't! It's not just up to you, even if your the club president!" Zander shouts back.

"..."

"Then I'm leaving." I say. Everyone looks at me in shock.

"This group is becoming toxic! We need to get better at this!" I say.

"...I agree with Hailey" Sean speaks up.

"Without Jake, this group is unbalanced! He's like, the key to us. Without him, let's face it..we're nothing." He says.

"Z-Zander c'mon-" Luke tries to speak up.

"No! I refuse to listen!" He says aggressively.

"Zander. We want Jake back. Everyone here does, and you know it. Please.." I say.

"Hailey, I hate seeing you suffer. The only times I've seen you extremely sad was always because of him. It's an unhealthy relationship and you know it!" Zander says.

"Just one more chance...please" I try to fight back.

"Zander, we all need him.." Milly finally speaks up.

Everyone is staring at Zander, waiting for his response.

"Whatever...." He finally gives in.

"Just don't expect me to feel bad for you all after he betrays us again.!" He says.

I jump to hug him.

"Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!" I say.

"We still have the song written for the competition when me and Jake wrote it, and I still want to sing with him!" I say.

"..but what if he doesn't come back? He told us he won't 'bother us' anymore but at what cost?" Luke says.

"..I'll be right back. Tonight, let's come to my house to practice extra hard!" I say. Everyone nods in response as I smile.

I run out of the room to look for Jake. I run into someone, but I was too focused to looking for Jake that I just quickly said sorry and ran faster. I eventually saw Jake and ran up to grab his wrist (kind of like what Jake did to Hailey in chapter 1).

"Jake! They want you! They all want you back!" I say.

"No they don't! They hate me Hailey!" Jake replies.

"They want you! Even Zander said it would be ok after you left! Come on!" I keep trying to convince him.

"Wait..they do? Are we still singing together?"

"Yep- only if you still want to"

"I do! Let's get to practicing!"

We run down the hallway together to the club room. Then, we get to practicing our song.
