Halsey
It's been a whole week since Halsey has seen any trace of some vibrant, since she's seen any form of blue - or even any other color. Maybe her theory was off? Or, what if what he mother had said was right? Coukd seee really have just been imagining everything? Well, whatever the case maybe, she's kind of happy that she was either able to see -or conjured up- the colors for once.
However, this isn't the matter at hand at the moment. Right now Halsey was too busy rummaging through all the clothes in her room, trying to find the perfect outfit to wear for tonight, since tonights the night that her and her Lukey went to the movies together. Despite the fact that they were just going to be in a completely dark room, she still wanted to have the satisfaction that she looked good.
A groan escaped her lips as she shook her head a bit, throwing more clothes on to her bed. Who knew that tryin to find a half-decent outfit would be such a struggle? Is this what all girls go through when they're trying to get ready? This is such a struggle, good god, the struggle is more than real.
As she looked through her wide spread selection fo clothes, her mind went back to thinking of Luke, wondering just what he would wear and how he would do his hair, but yet she figured he'd probably just wear a flannel and his hair up like he usually does. After all, band tees, flannels, and skinny jeans are his signature look.
"God dammit! You know what, fuck it!" Halsey practically screamed as she finally just decided on pulling on a pair of ripped black shorts, a grey tank-top, and a flannel. As she pulled on her clothes, she noticed that she had taken over an hour just to pick out her clothes, and that Luke would be there to get her within the next fifteen minutes, so she rushed to do her makeup and hair, deciding that she would keep a nude look (or so she thought) and just french braided her fringe away from her eyes.
By the time she was finished with her hair, her mother called up to her. "Halsey! Luke's here for you!" and replied with a quick 'coming as she grabbed her phone and wallet. She practically sprinted down the stairs and into her living room to find Luke being stared down by her father.
"Daddy, be nice to Lukey." Halsey giggled as she stood next to Luke, as usual his beautiful masucline body towered over her own. "Anyways, you ready to get going?" She smiled up at Luke, figuring that he'd want to get out of teh awkward situation with her parents.
"I'm already." Luke nodded enthusiastically. "It was nice meeting you Mr. and Mrs. Barrows, and don't worry, she'll be home by elven."
"She better be." Halsey's father mumbled under his breath as the pair snuck out the front door.
Luke, being the gentlemen that he is, open the passenger side for Halsey before climbing into the drivers seat, and of course she thanked him as she felt butterflies piling up in her stomach even more.
The drive to the theatre was filled with a comfortable silence and the sound of Alex Gaskarth's immaculate voice punding through the car speakers. One small perk of being around Luke is his taste in things - his taste in clothes, friends, food, and above all music - it was just weird to meet someone who had so much in common with her.
When they got to the movies Luke wrapped his arm around her waist rather protectively, as if to tell other guys there that she was there with him. They got themselves some popcorn, sour patch kids, and drinks at the snack bar before heading in to the theatre that would be showing their movie of choice; Pitch Perfect 2. All though Halsey was partial to see Poltergist, considering Luke wanted to, but he declined and told her "That he would rather see her smile and laugh then cower due to fear."
The two of them took up a couple seats in the back and watched as the previews ran across the screen, the two of them laughing and commenting on how they should go and see the movies together when they came out. Even though some would consider this date to awkward with their lack of contact, Halsey was enjoying it, in fact she would say that this is the best date she's had - wait, is this even a legit date to Luke? She shook her head a bit as a rosy tint covered her usually pale cheeks.
"Are you okay Hals? You cheeks are all pink," Luke's smile turned into a worried expression as he reached over and gently took her hand into his, right as the lights stated to dim.
"H-huh?" Halsey looked down at their hands, her heart racing as she saw how he held her hand and even laced their fingers together. "I'm perfectly fine Lukey, don't worry."
By the tme she finished talking, the lights had went out, and the movie started rolling on the screen. When Halsey looked back up at the movie, her eyes widened. The movie wasn't in black, white, and all the shades of gray in between. It was in color. Absloutely all of it. She could see the golden waves of Fat Amy's hair, the bright silvery-white lights that shone on the stage as the Bella's performed, and every color after those.
"W-what? No way..." Halsey mumbled to herself as she used her free hand to wipe her eyes, but even after doing that she could still see the movie in proper color.
What's going on? Is she imagining this? No, this isn't her overactive imagination, she's actually seeing this right now. Her lips pull upwards into a wide smile and she squeezes Luke's hand ecstaticly, but to catch her off guard even more he squeezes it back.
This date really has been the greatest date she's ever been on by far.
