Luke

Ever since Luke moved away from Australia, he never thought that any of this would've happened. He didn't except it too, in fact he figured that his life would probably be going in a deep downward spiral, but then again, isn't that how everyone thinks and feels whenever they're leaving behind people and things that they feel like they can't live without?

For instance, Luke never expected to make friends right of the bat. His first day at his new school went well - actually it went better than he had ever anticipated it to. And the fact that he made friends right away just made things even better. He didn't think that anyone would be so open to him, they really did let him in and treated him as if he's been their since the early years. It was such a surprising, but faultless, gesture.

Also, he never thought that he'd meet someone like Halsey. He remembers the first time he laid eyes on her on his first day of school. He had just walked into his calculus class and there she was, sitting right next to her best friend Kerri, just working away. He took the open seat closest to her, hoping that maybe he'd get the nerve to talk to her, but instead of talking he just stared at her for a while. When they made eye contact he felt something stir in him, the only way to describe that feeling as being butterflies, but also something else happened when they made their small encounter, connection, whatever you want to call it.

Ever since he was younger, he's never been able to examine life the way that other people have, because he's never been able to see color. Color, to him, was completely nonexistant. When he stared into her eyes though, he saw this beautiful deep shade of chocolate brown that made his heart melt. Her eyes are gorgeous, but then again, he thinks that the rest of her is too.

He was so happy when he got closer with her and spent more time with her, and he loves hanging around her and just being with her. She really does make him happy, she's just a great ball of happiness that continues to make his heart race, and with each waking moment that he gets to spend with her his feelings just deepen for her.

Their date to the movies was amazing as well, even though he felt like he was being a little too awkward, but Halsey looked like she was enjoying herself. When they held hands he felt this spark flow through him, he doesn't know if Halsey felt it too, but he's hoping that she did. He got another suprise because of her that night too, he was able to see that whole movie in color, which was a bit of a blessing to him.

Now he's pacing around his room, the thought of Halsey and everything that's going on floating through his mind. He's never felt like this for anyone - not even his ex-girlfriend Aleshia who lives back in Australia. He's never delt with a situation like his colorblindness either, he's never seen a hint of colorful hues during his entire existance until he met Halsey, but he feels like that ones just a coincidence.

"Oh Halsey. Halsey, Halsey, Halsey... what are you doing to me?" Luke asked himself softly before falling on to his bed and staring up at the ceiling.

He wants to be with her as more than just her friend, but should he take that leap? Take the risk of possibly getting reject by her? No, she wouldn't reject him, would she? She'd probably go out with him out of pity though, now that's something that she'd do.

As he thought about Halsey, an idea popped into his mind; Should he talk to Randy about this? Randy is Halsey's closest gay best friend, the two of them are basically attached at the hip whenever they're together. Randy knows her better then anyone else so maybe he could help him get to Halsey on a romantic level.

"That's it!" Luke yelps excitedly as he grabs his phone from out of his pocket.

"That's what!?" A deep masculine voice calls out. The voice belongs to his oldest brother Ben.

"Nothing Ben! Just school stuff!" Luke shouts back as he quickly calls up Randy and puts the phone to his ear.

He doesn't know if Randy will help him, but there's really no shame in asking, right? The worse that will happen is he'll say no and hang up. You know, if he felt this way about the idea of Halsey rejectig him, he'd feel like he'd have more confidence to ask her out by himself and set up the date without Randy's help.

"What do you want Lucas?"A muffled, but sassy, voice makes Luke forget about what he was thinking

"I need your help." Luke says bluntly. "I need help with girl issues.

Randy laughs. "Girl issues? Luke, I think you have the wrong person.

Luke shakes his head, despite the fact that Randy can't see him do so."No, I have the right person. The girl I need help with is Hals."

"Oooh, lemme guess, you want to ask her out again don't you!"

"How'd you know? Are you some kind psychic or something? Luke chuckles.

"No Lucas, I'm just able to read in between the lines." Luke had a feeling Randy acted like he flipped his hair when he said that. "Do you have the date planned out yet?

"Err... um... No..." Luke stuttered out as he heard the slight sound of skin hitting skin. He was pretty sure Randy just face palmed himself.

"Alright pretty boy, just leave the date plans to me, all you have to do is ask her out. Got it?"

"Got it!" Luke grinned widely. "Thanks queen.

"You're welcome peasant." Randy smirked before hanging up the phone.

Luke was mentally cheering as he did a small dance. Thank god for gay best friends.
