—Noelle-
I hadn't budged much from the bench we were sitting on, it was awkward and quiet which wasn't what I had meant to happen but I wasn't good at starting conversation with Felix anyways. He always started and held them good though, which he was currently doing with an older lady beside us. "Oh deary me, I just have to show you a picture of my granddaughter". I flinched at her words, her granddaughter?
I look through my peripheral to see her pull out a small photo of the prettiest girl I had ever seen. Blue eyes and light red hair, something out of a model agency. "Wow, she is quite the beauty". Felix was kind and always said every girl was beautiful, but even I knew he did truly find her pretty.
If I was a man I would ask for her number quick. "Would you like her contact"? Felix laughed heartily, and waved his hands up. "No no, I'm good ma'am. I'm sure your granddaughter has quite a few men wanting her already". I nodded, my chest feeling less heavy than before. The older lady's smile lightened and she seemed down, which I don't blame her. Felix was an absolute catch, through all of middle school and high school he was the choice for a lot of girls crushes. He glanced over at me, and I swear my heart started doing jumping jacks. "Well don't you have a girlfriend young man"? The question left us both surprised, I could see he didn't know what to say. My feet started to fiddle with each other and I gripped the bench, looking all around. "Yeah I don't have a girlfriend", he said. I already knew that and it made me feel better already, "well then you have got to like someone". This lady sure knew how to put me through small panic attacks, can't imagine how her children and grand children felt. A low girly came from her, and I wanted to tear off my ears. Felix was quiet weirdly, his eyes connected with mine for a moment. Suddenly he slowly turned back to the older lady, "actually... I think I do". What.
I couldn't help but let out a tiny gasp, Felix had stayed completely single his entire middle school and high school life. So it was news to me that he was interested in someone. His family obviously doesn't know because I keep track- I mean there hasn't been gossip.. haha.
The lady seemed even more intrigued but another older lady stopped her and they started talking like old pals. It was even more awkwardly silent than before, I couldn't help but dwell on the thought of Felix having a crush. "Noelle"? His voice spoke up, and he was right in front of my face, I could see his cerulean eyes and full lips. My heart couldn't help but wanna start up again like an engine, if Heather was here she would be cackling. "Sorry, what were you saying", he started his sentence again, "I just wanted to know what classes you had this year". He pulled out his paper with his classes in order, and I scanned every inch, definitely not committing to memory. I'm not a weirdo.
My voice involuntarily turned chipper, "we have 2 classes together and share lunch". The school we went to was somewhat a rich school but actually small, my mom pays quite a bit for me to go. His smile relaxed, I shouldn't be questioning it though.
"When will our train be here", a person I forgot was next to us asked. I almost jumped if it weren't for the fact that I instantly knew the voice, "here soon Johnny". I could tell he was getting impatient, "yep, and if you'd like, you can play on my phone until school". Felix leaned over me to show Johnny his phone, I could feel his body heat next to mine and it was sending shivers up my spine. "Oh, you don't have to do that", he shook his head, "no, I have a lot of games on my phone for my sister". Johnny didn't even care to ask me either, as if Felix's authority overruled mine. I only let out a short laugh, "what do you say Johnny"?
He looked over to me, and I could tell with the look on his face that what he was going to say would piss me off, "that he is a better brother than you are as a sister"? The urge to smack him was strong, but not as strong as my love for my imagine in front of Felix. I only held in my tone, "yeah..haha, nice joke". He rolled his eyes and started playing on Felix's phone, "Felix"! A female shouted loudly, I flinched at the voice. Oh no.
