-mom-The sounds of talking and different gasps filled the street, many taking picture of the gruesome scene and others turning their heads in disgust. The blood was everywhere, and the taped off area was a whole block of the street. Only certain individuals were allowed past, and police officers were pushing people back to get more room for the investigators.
Suddenly a black SUV pulled through the crowd, finally giving the scene enough room. The doors opened and closed, an old man figure stepping out.
Boss finally made it, his face more serious than it normally is. I can only imagine why.
Not too long ago we lost Mrs. Cheetah... I didn't know her, but boss said she was eccentric. My throat trembled in front of him, but I had to keep my composure. The device I was wearing was a watch that made me unnoticeable to the human eyes, which meant we could go through crime scenes we thought were connected to the supernatural.
Like this one.
It hasn't even been a week since the massacre of a whole trained squad we sent out. Now we lost even more, 7 to be precise. Boss walked under the tape, passing oblivious police officers, I joined beside him. "Show me what it is you were talking about". He said, allowing me to walk in front of him to show him the new evidence that appeared, I moved my hand to show him the head of one of our new officers. A yellow liquid and black flesh stuck in his mouth, making us both grimace. If it weren't for one of our expertly trained mages then we wouldn't be able to play off most of the unnatural things that happen. Like this for example.
"So, what are we guessing"? I asked, I was absolutely stumped, not ever in my 20 years have I seen something along the lines of this. We had many unknown creatures come along, but something with burnt black flesh and yellow liquid isn't one of them.
And the fact that the flesh isn't shriveling up in the daylight was nerve wracking, and I could tell it was the same for boss. "I'm not sure.", he ticked his tongue and made sign with his hand to take the body away. I followed after him, "but sir! We aren't done investigating"!
"You're right! We are just getting started", he said, situating himself in the back of the SUV. I sat next to him. "Then what are we going to do"? He pulled his cane up to his lap, "we are going to be spending the next week in the basement library". I only nodded, if it included the basement library then that means it's serious.

Classes weren't worth listening to, I didn't need to learn about anything besides how to beat these damn monsters' asses. I groaned in my dorm bed; my body was nothing but sore from the training I was doing. I hated the schools training, it felt slow. Unnecessary. A knock on my door caused me to sit up. whoever it was seemed to be wanting their ass kicked because anyone close to me knows that once I'm in my dorm I don't like being bothered for shit. I stomped over to the door, opening it to see Adira with her damn bookbag. "The hell you want"? i asked, already done with whatever conversation she was seeking. "To study, the nerd says we need to do it as much as possible this year". Of course she went to the damn nerd for help. He wasn't ever willing to help anyone unless it was that buff crybaby. "How did you even get his notes"? I asked, grabbing the notebook she was holding. she looked around awkwardly, makes sense since she rarely ever steps into my dorm, she and the damn hag and old man were the only three who ever step foot in here. "Well, we made a pact that I would help him with Kombat training while he helped me and you with studying". she said, trying to get past me, I didn't allow her. "Whatever, you can do it yourself, I don't need help". I said, handing her back the notebook. she sulked and took it back; it wasn't my problem. "Well, I will help you in class anyways Eli", she said, running down the hall before I could respond, that didn't stop me from yelling back at her though, cursing under my breath.
