Mia
I glared at the small clock on my desk top. Tick, tock, tick. My eyes followed the small hands as they moved at a extremely painfully slow pace.
"Mia," I heard a muffled noise in the background, i chose to ignore it. "Mia!" This time the voice was a lot louder.
"Hur?" I snapped out of my gaze suddenly.
"Mia, I said have you done the assessed task, like I asked?" My old, slightly fading teacher, said. I blinked once more until he had stopped spinning.
I looked over at my very blank, and certainly not completed English lit task paper. Crap.
"No-"
"Mia, what has gotten into you lately, you seem distracted!"
"I'm sorry," I muttered. He, in returned, just rolled his eyes.
"I guess you'll just have more homework then." I sighed and shoved my books into my bag, flinging it over my shoulder, just has the bell went, I walked out.
While avoiding the bust crowd of students, I fumbled around in my bag, relief flooding over me as my hands gripped around the cold, rectangular shape of my phone. I always seem to leave it somewhere. I scrolled down my contacts.
"Mum," I greeted over the phone. "I'll be out for a bit, can I get you anything?"
"No, have fun darling."
"Okay, bye, I love you."
I slowly made my way to my car, tiredness taking over me, school seemed to be dragging my insanity down each sleepless night at a time. Seeing Adam was actually the only thing that I was looking forward to all day. These feelings were growing, it scared me. I no longer hated him. Well, marginally less than perviously.
I started the engine and began to make my way to the increasing familia council estate. A place I had rarely visit and now I didn't even have to think about it, nor worry where to park my car. An odd concept to consider, seeing how things in my life had changed so quickly.
I arrived, and Adam wasn't there. Okay, I thought to myself, I am only five minutes early. But soon these minutes multiplied, until it was approaching 4pm, a whole hour after Adam promised to meet me.
I was angry. He promised. He hurt me. I gave him Mercy and he couldn't even be bothered to turn up. I felt like a joke, a joke which let myself be walked all over. So without giving Adam another minute or another hour, I turned out of the estate.
I thundered down the motorway, my mind running wild with pain and anger. The roads reminded me of my dad and sister, I could see their faces, blurring into the stream from the exhausts. I could hear there voices amongst the screams of car wheels. And finally I could see there death, in the car, flying towards me, out of control.
Forthcoming darkness.
