Hearts in Transit

Time raced forward, and before he knew it, the days had melted away. In those two days, Taehyung busied himself with packing his bags, playfully pestering his parents for clues about the vacation destination, and trying to extract secrets from Jeongguk. But despite his efforts, they kept it under wraps, leaving Taehyung feeling sulky and impatient.

Now, he sat in the living room, his luggage stacked in the corner of the couch, feet tapping restlessly against the floor as he awaited Jeongguk's arrival for his overnight stay at Jeon Mansion. The anticipation of spending time with Jeongguk and meeting his family filled him with excitement.

In his past life, Taehyung hadn't enjoyed a positive relationship with any member of the Jeon family; he had pushed them all away whenever they tried to reach out. But this time, he was determined to make an effort to win their hearts and truly appreciate the love they offered.

"Look at him, all excited to visit his in-laws!" His mother teased with a playful smile on her face. For two straight days, she had delighted in his enthusiasm for the upcoming vacation.

"Yeah, if I remember correctly, he was always the one who made no effort for vacations. You had to do all his packing, and now look at him—sitting here with his luggage ready and a bag full of gifts for his in-laws," his father chimed in, prompting an exaggerated whine from Taehyung.

"Dad! You too? I'm not talking to either of you!" Taehyung huffed, turning his full attention to his phone.

"See, honey? Now he's ignoring us," his father said, setting down the file he had been reading.

"We should sulk too, just like he did for the last two days when 'his' fiancé didn't talk to him." His mother added in a dramatically sad tone, causing Taehyung's face to flush a deep red.

"I did not sulk!" he protested.

"Yeah, sure you didn't," his parents replied in unison, their mocking tone unmistakable.

Well, he had sulked. Jeongguk had been busy with meetings for the past two days, barely finding time to eat. Still, he managed to text Taehyung whenever he had a spare moment, which wasn't often. Taehyung understood, but that didn't mean he was particularly delighted about it.

"When is Joonie Hyungie coming back?" Taehyung asked. He was attempting to steer the conversation in a different direction.

"After two weeks," his father replied.

Namjoon had to head to Singapore because of an emergency situation right after Taehyung returned in this lifetime.

Kim Corp. had recently acquired a firm in Singapore, and everything seemed to be going smoothly—until it wasn't. Their lawyer had betrayed them.

Now, it had spiraled into a huge legal mess, and Namjoon was there to untangle it. Mr. Kim would also be flying out in two days.

The family chatted animatedly until the sound of a car horn broke through, followed by the butler announcing, "Young Master Jeon has arrived." Moments later, Jeongguk stepped inside.

"Good evening, Mom, Dad," he greeted warmly.

"Good evening, son," Mr. Kim replied, standing to pat Jeongguk on the back.

After spending some time in the Kim Mansion, sharing laughter and stories over dinner, Jeongguk and Taehyung prepared to leave for Jeon Mansion.

As they neared Jeon Mansion, Taehyung's nerves began to surface. It was his first visit, and the weight of that realization made him fidget.

"Baby, calm down. They're just my family," Jeongguk reassured him, but Taehyung's response was quick.

"They are your 'family'. Forget it; you wouldn't understand."
