Between Stars and Dreams
Jeongguk adjusted his hold, pulling Taehyung even closer as if trying to shield him from the world. He pressed a soft kiss to Taehyung's forehead and whispered tenderly, "The way you have power over me, and I'm not even complaining."
In that fleeting moment, the whirlwind of the flight began to dissolve, as if the tumultuous world outside had faded into insignificance. Jeongguk and Taehyung found themselves enveloped in a cocoon of warmth and affection, a private sanctuary amidst the chaos. Jeongguk couldn't help but smile to himself, a wave of contentment washing over him as he gazed down at Taehyung, who lay sleeping peacefully in his embrace. The sight filled him with an overwhelming sense of purpose; he would do anything to protect the one he loved, to ensure that this tranquil moment lasted as long as possible.
Eventually, as the minutes slipped by like gentle whispers, Taehyung stirred, slowly awakening from his slumber. He found himself snuggled comfortably in blankets, resting on Jeongguk's lap. Jeongguk, meanwhile, was engrossed in scrolling through some documents on his phone, the soft glow illuminating his features. The serene atmosphere wrapped around them like a soft blanket, reinforcing the bond they shared, a reminder of the tranquility that existed even amidst life's uncertainties.
"You're working here too," Taehyung mumbled drowsily, shifting slightly in his spot.
"Baby, you woke up!" Jeongguk exclaimed, quickly shutting off his phone and directing his full attention toward Taehyung, who responded with a soft hum.
"It's just some documents Soobin sent over for review," Jeongguk explained, gently running his fingers through Taehyung's hair.
"That Soobin is stealing your attention from me," Taehyung pouted, his lips forming an irresistibly sulky expression.
"No one is stealing me away from you, baby," Jeongguk reassured him softly. "I promise I won't touch any work-related documents while we're on this trip. Honestly, you were sleeping, and I was feeling a bit bored, so I figured I'd glance at some papers." He leaned in, planting a gentle kiss on Taehyung's pouting lips, coaxing a smile to replace the frown.
"He better not, no more work," Taehyung insisted, his tone firm yet playful.
"Yes, no more work," Jeongguk agreed, a smile dancing across his face, glad to see Taehyung's spirits lifting.
"How much time till we reach our destination?" Taehyung tilted his head and inquired after a brief pause.
"Baby, we're about to land at Dubai Airport soon," Jeongguk replied, a glint of excitement in his eyes. "After that, we'll have to board one more flight. So, it's approximately ten more hours." He punctuated his answer with a playful bop on Taehyung's nose.
"We cannot ruin surprise at the last moment; can we? So the next flight is on our private jet."
"Not fair! Wait, did you just say one more flight? And did you say ten more hours?" Taehyung's eyes widened in shock at the news.
"Yes, baby."
"Oh no! I'll be exhausted by the time we get there. I won't enjoy it at all!" Taehyung pouted dramatically, slamming his head against Jeongguk's chest in a theatrical display of despair.
"You'll have plenty of time to rest, baby, and I promise you'll enjoy the vacation," Jeongguk replied, gently rubbing Taehyung's forehead, concerned that it might be sore.
"Wait, let me get up; your legs must be numb by now. I'm sorry I fell asleep on your lap," Taehyung said hurriedly, shifting off Jeongguk's lap to sit back in his own seat. He began to gently massage Jeongguk's thighs, trying to alleviate any discomfort.
