Unyielding Valor
"Boss, don't worry!" a burly man replied confidently, charging forward with his companions, eager to subdue Taehyung before he could make any further moves. The tension in the alley crackled as the two sides prepared for the inevitable clash, and Taehyung's heart raced with a mix of fear and resolve.
"Come and get him!" one man sneered as he charged toward Taehyung.
Taehyung braced himself, waiting for the right moment. When the man was within range, he unleashed a powerful right hook. The goon countered with his own punch, but Taehyung's was faster, landing squarely on the man's mouth. The impact sent blood flying as the goon staggered back, momentarily dazed.
Fueled by rage, the goon quickly recovered and seized Taehyung, throwing him into the ground with such force that a cloud of dust erupted around him.
Taehyung rolled over as he narrowly escaped the goon's heavy boots. He quickly regained his footing. He was determined to keep fighting despite the odds stacked against him.
Taehyung scrambled to his feet and lunged, butting the goon in the chest.
Another man attacked him. Taehyung braced himself as he felt his stomach roaring with pain. He started to swing in blind fury, both hands going with every ounce of power he could muster.
The goon squared off against him, legs spread wide, and they began to exchange blows. He was the larger of the two, his punches heavy with power but slightly slower. It was a fierce contest. They traded strikes until their lungs burned and breath came in sharp gasps. The goon lowered his battered face and pressed forward, absorbing Taehyung's blows with brute strength.
Taehyung shifted his attack with lightning speed.
He slid his arm around the man's thick neck and grabbed the wrist with his left hand. The big renegade knew all the tricks; as Tae's feet flew up, he hurled his weight forward and to the left, falling with his body half across Tae. It broke the hold. Taehyung came to his feet, and the goon lashed out with a wicked kick for his stomach.
Taehyung rolled away from it and hurled himself at Goon's one standing leg in a flying tackle. The big man went down, and as he scrambled up, Taehyung hit him with a left and right, splitting his right cheek in a bone-deep gash and pulping his lips.
Taehyung stood up. He blew a kiss to the man and punched him in the face.
"Why are you standing? Attack him together?" The leader roared, and all the other men lunged at him.
Taehyung was no match for four. He grated his teeth to maintain his composure. He used all his strength to kick the man in front of him. However, a punch came from the side. He felt a pain in his abdomen, and his vision turned black for a moment. His arm was grabbed by someone. That person held on to him firmly.
"Bitch, aren't you rather impressive at fighting? Keep fighting!" The leader of the group of men had already recovered. He lit a cigarette again and put it in his mouth. His hand came to stroke Taehyung's face.
"Let's see if you can still be so arrogant after I've dealt with you."
"Bah!" Taehyung spat out in frustration, his body firmly pinned to the ground, rendering him utterly immobile. A wave of helplessness washed over him.
He had once presided over the Jeon Empire with an ironclad rule. In his past life, he would have dispatched these attackers with effortless ease. Every technique he had mastered flashed through his mind like a vivid memory, yet his body stubbornly refused to cooperate.
The strength that had once surged through him now felt like a distant memory. Nevertheless, a flicker of pride ignited within him; despite his limitations, he had still managed to incapacitate two of the goons. It was a small victory, but in that moment, it reminded him that even in his weakened state, the heart of a fighter still beat fiercely within him.
