The Newyorkers (Project next-gen part 2)

If a head is cut off

As the Empire State Jet Approached the Avengers campus and began its landing protocols, Shuri noticed that the Royal Talon was on one of the landing pads.

The Newyorkers still in costume, including their prisoner behind them, were immediately stopped by a group of Shield agents who restrained Subject 2 with a pair of power-dampening cuffs and escorted him somewhere. Before leaving, they gave the Newyorkers directions on where they were supposed to go.

"You know that fire guy don't you," Shuri whispered to Danny and for a second he flinched. Luckily for him, before he could think of a response, Monica turned around a corner in front of them, startling the five who were all unmasked except Kate who was still wearing her sunglasses.

"Oh, you guys are here already," She said, and Danny took a quiet sigh of relies

"What are you doing here?"  Danny asked regaining his posture.

"Well Fury told me you guys went on an unauthorised mission," She started, and the team shuddered at the word 'unauthorised'.

"So I came to congratulate you guys," She finished

"We're not in trouble?" Peter asked

"What, of course not," Monica revealed and Danny let out another sigh he didn't know he was holding.

"I haven't seen Fury smile at the news since I was eleven," Monica added, shocking the team who had forgotten the news reporters they avoided.

"We're on the news?" Wanda asked, unable to hold her excitement.

"Yeah, I'll show you, as soon as you tell me who this is," The Sword official replied, pointing to the archer.

"This is our friend, Kate, we couldn't have done this mission without her,"

"Well, she can tag along," Monica said and escorted the team to where they were supposed to go

"Uhh, Monica?" Danny said, getting his guardian's attention.

"Yep," Monica replied, stopping outside a door in a section of the compound the kids had never seen before. It felt much more spacious than the rest of the compound and felt more vibrant due to almost all of the exterior walls being completely transparent, showing the view of the outside.

"Where'd you put that guy we captured?" Danny asked.

"We put him in a holding cell but we can worry about him later, for now, there are a few people who have been wanting to meet you," Monica said, opening the door and revealing a massive room.

It was at least four times the size of a basketball court. The furthest wall opposite the door was fully transparent showing the afternoon sky and greenery, whilst the remaining walls were a white, gold and silver marble. On the left, just a few feet from the door, there was a 24-inch flat screen on the wall with a 7-person couch in front of it and a pile of pillows and blankets. on the right, there was a ping pong table where Sam and Bucky were wrapping up their match. There was also a basketball hoop on the wall above the table. The room was split in half widthways, with the second part of the room being a few feet lower and with an infinite waterfall flowing in a small space between them. The bottom half of the room housed a bar on the far right, and a 26-seat holo table in the centre and on the left was another entrance door.

The Newyorkers were shocked to see that the place was filled with almost all the remaining Avengers. The aforementioned Sam and Bucky, Bruce, Rhodey, Pepper and surprisingly Morgan, Clint, T'Challa and Okoye. The only ones absent were Thor, Captain Marvel, Ant-Man and the Wasp.

When the door clicked open, The Avengers all faced the Newyorkers and surprisingly Morgan dashed over to Peter who was unmasked. He crouched down and caught her in a hug with a huge smile on his face. He'd seen her quite a few times, but it had been almost a year since she'd seen him so he was surprised that he remembered her. Shuri noticed her brother and Okoye and couldn't help but run over to them.
