I just got home from work and saw the tail end of the game. 6-5 OT loss. I knew Patrick was going to be disappointed with how he played because he always blames it on himself.
I was waiting on the couch, wrapped in a blanket reading a book when he came in and dropped all of his stuff. He didn't notice I was there until I got up and hugged him from behind.
"Hey babe," I said,"Do you wanna talk about it?"
He shook his head and sat on the couch and turned on the TV to see the highlights. I sat next to him and stared at him until he looked at me and smiled.
"What," He laughed.
"There's that smile I missed," I said as I hugged him.
"God I love you," He said wistfully.
His eyes widened as he said," I'm sorry it was too soon wasn't it you probably think I'm rushing you and-"
I cut him off with a long, passionate kiss and said," I love you too, Patrick."
{Skip 1 year}
We walked hand in hand down the windy streets of Chicago to the park that we had our first date at. When we got there we sat on a bench and looked at the people walking around.
"Hey Y/N?" Patrick asked.
"Yeah what is it?" I replied.
After I said that he was down on one knee with a beautiful ring out.
"You are the brightness of my life. You're the only person that has ever been able to cheer me up because of your thoughtfulness, funniness, even your presence makes me feel happier. You are the most perfect girl I've met and I want to spend my whole life with you so will you, (Y/N) (Y/L/N), agree to spend the rest of your life with me?" He asked with hope in his eyes.
"Of course I will! I love you so much Patrick!" I said as tears formed in my eyes.
After that happened, there were people clapping and saying 'Congratulations' to us. We went home and spent the whole day with each other and prepared for the rest of our lives.
