Finding a job is never be easy. Especially in a city like Seoul. Jongwoo wandered around companies for almost a week, from morning until dark. Some didn't even look at him, and it angered him so much that he found himself punching a wall. After dressing his wound and wrapping his hand, he continued to look for a job as if nothing had happened.Today, a small company that he gave his CV called and invited him for an interview.
He almost flew out there and left the company doing the best he could. He was almost sure that he would get a positive answer, but he would not sit idly by. Maybe it would be nice if he got part-time job as well. How much would these companies pay him anyway? He still had a lot to learn. His mother, who was unaware of what had happened, called several times. Jongwoo continued to avoid her and sat in a park to catch his breath. Meanwhile, his hand went to his wrist, and he unconsciously pursed his lips as he rubbed it. A few days ago he had dared to touch that hideous wristband and finally removed it. He threw it in a corner of the room and completely ignored it for the next few days.
"Hey Jongwoo, what are you doing here alone?"
He was startled by the sudden appearance of Junghwa, but quickly recovered and returned her greeting.
What did this woman want from him? Has she been following him?"Can I sit down?" Junghwa asked.
She was wearing ordinary clothes instead of her uniform. When Jongwoo only nodded, Junghwa sat down with a slight smile. Being careful not to show it, she began to examine the young man. He looked weakened. He didn't seem to be taking care of himself. Who knows what he was thinking now?
"Have you met your girlfriend? She didn't know you were out of the hospital, she was worried about you."
Jongwoo remained silent. He wasn't normally a very talkative person anyway. But he didn't want to speak either. Especially with this woman. But the only person who listened to him and helped him was Junghwa. Why couldn't he have good feelings for her?
"Where is your wristband?"
With this question, his heart quickened, Jongwoo turned to the woman. How did she know about the wristband? Did she know that Moonjo gave it too? Was this woman not only following him but watching him?
"You wore it at the hospital," Junghwa explained. From the expression on the young man's face, she knew something was wrong.
"Oh yes. I don't wear it anymore."
Jongwoo tried to relax. Why was he feeling guilty? No one would have known that the teeth on that wristband belonged to humans. Except for himself and Moonjo. Maybe other dentists too.
Junghwa couldn't understand the expressionlessness on the young man's face. She knew he was traumatized, but still it seemed strange that he didn't wonder what was going on. He couldn't just delete everything. And she would need him while the investigation was still going on.
"After that night in Gosiwon, investigations were made and the case was not closed. Aren't you going to ask what the detectives found?"
With the anxiety rising inside him, Jongwoo buried his head in his hands. He quickly looked around without blinking. He thought he saw Moonjo on a far corner of the street. He closed his eyes tightly and opened them again and looked at the same place. He had disappared.
He got up trying to swallow and started walking away without saying anything.Junghwa watched his movements in amazement and didn't try to stop him. Maybe she should have hired a psychologist for him. It was clear that he couldn't handle it on his own. She would have to wait a little longer for her questions.
