Chapter 13: Silco

You and Jinx made it to Silco office room and went up to the spot that Jinx made above his office. We were just waiting there when someone opens the door. It was Sevika. You scoffed a bit and rolled your eyes. Jinx looks at you a chuckles lightly before laying back down. You saw Sevika sat on the chair infornt of Silco's deck and starts drinking a bottle that she had in her hand.

Sevika: She fired on us. And Ray stood there doing nothing.

Silco: There are always mishaps in battle. The Firelights were her target and most are dead.

Sevika still kept drinking and talking to Silco at the same time. You and Jinx are hearing the conversation that was going on between the two "Adults".

Sevika: It wasn't a mishap, she froze up and lost her shit. So did Ray but she was crying.
I've could've handled those brats. They're both a problem and we all know it.

Silco: We?

He turns around with his chair and looks at Sevika.

Silco: Who's we?

Sevika didn't want to look at him she just kept drinking.

Silco: I expect better from you than excuses.
It was your job to make sure things went smoothly.

A grin appears on your face. That's what Sevika gets for making excuses. But you couldn't help but remember what Jinx said with the girl she held on to. Vi. Repeating in you head and it wouldn't go away.

Silco: You failed. Don't disappoint me again.

He turns back around to face the window. Sevika scoffs and stood up and walk to the door. She opens it and closes leaving You, Jinx, and Silco in the room. Silco sighs and tosses a clipboard onto his desk.

Silco: The world's growing smaller every day, thanks to the Hexgates. And now, we're cut off. The topsiders are leaving us further and further behind.

He clicks his gadget for his eye and then said one last thing.

Silco: What happened?

Jinx: She already told you.

You wanted to stay quiet for a bit so they can talk. You didn't know how to feel right now. Anger? Sad? Confused? You couldn't decide.

Silco: I'm asking both of you.

Jinx flops down to Silco desk and forms herself into a ball shape putting her legs up to her chest. You jump down as well but sat on the chair that Sevika was sitting on.

Jinx: One of those Firelight wackos was a girl...with pink hair.

Silco: Hmm...

He turns around and faced Jinx on his desk. He gave her the device he had in his hand and offered it to Jinx to take it. You just stared at them as they spoke. Jinx takes it and scoots herself to Silco's lap and getting prepared to put the thing in his eye that is not normal from the other one.

Silco: Your sister's gone. You know that as well as I do.

Jinx: I know, I know. Sisters, right? *chuckles* You can't live with 'em, can't stuff 'em back in the ol' babymaker.

Jinx chuckles and so did you but quietly. You knew Jinx had a sister but she never really talks about her or anything. When you try to brag it up she will always change the subject and move on. Jinx blows in the device.

Silco: Today's screw-up will set us back weeks.

Jinx leans in Silco's head and speaks.

Jinx: I'm sorry.
