Pov First Person:Zero
Three months later after the confession. . .It's been a few months since I confessed, Miyo hasn't talked to me as much as she used to and her optimistic vibe hasn't been the same since then, at first I thought it was the worst decision of my life, telling my only family the truth that they subconsciously tried so hard to get rid off, only for the culprit to tell them the whole truth. And honestly I felt like shit for the first two weeks, my mind was plagued with all sorts of questions and doubts which spiraled out of control into shutting myself in my room for most of the day if I'm not at school and letting myself glide through the days I even took a long break from work because of this. But eventually her birthday was coming up and I didn't want to be a shut in forever, and considering my actions in the past and the fact that I didn't tell her the truth about myself for a long time now, let's just say I wanted to go all out as an apology for avoiding the truth for so long.
Now I'm in my room, tapping along the keyboard of my computer while I mumble to myself thinking of the best possible way that her birthday could turn out, make her happy and see that she hasn't lost all of her joy, of course a lot of her friends are gonna be there so to prepare for that, I messaged them two days ahead of time that I was planning a surprise birthday party later at night. While I distracted her, they would be preparing the house for the surprise. And it's also a good opportunity to find out what she thinks of me now, good or otherwise.
Two Days Later. . .
The day finally came, and so far none of her friends had given her a hint as to what's happening right now, which was good considering that I'm currently outside with her, going to a theme park to give her friends enough time to set up the house for the party. And have some fun in the process. So I decided to spark up a conversation as we were walking down the street.
Zero:What do you wanna ride first when we get there?
Miyo:Maybe the roller coaster first. . . Or the haunted mansion. . .
Zero:Ok. . . Do you wanna play some carnival games first? You know, have a little fun before the main course?
Miyo:Uh sure. . .
Zero:Alrighty. . .
A few minutes in and the situation was already getting awkward, she couldn't say much which prompted me to try and improvise to spark up the conversation I instigated in the first place, but that did not work as intended. Soon enough we made it to the theme park and began browsing through the games and seeing if there's something that she could have fun with.
Miyo:How about that shooting gallery over there? *Points to a stand nearby*
Zero:Sure, I guess shooting up a gallery like a school sounds fun.
Miyo looks at me with a confused look.
Zero:Bad joke. . .
Me and Miyo approached the stand and at a first glance, the place had really improved a lot since I'd last seen it, the guns here were even recycled from actual rifles rather than poorly made versions of the gun. Paying ten dollars for three magazines for two guns filled with steel bb's was a steal but the rewards were pretty steep as a result, and since we both didn't have experience with guns at all, the guy at the counter even gave us an extra magazine filled with plastic bb's than steel ones saying that plastic bb's won't knock down the targets.
Zero:You first? *Gesturing at the moving targets*
Miyo:*Hands shaking while holding the rifle* Yeah. . . I'll go first.
Zero:Need some help?
Miyo:*Steadies her hands as she aims but is still shaking slightly* N-No I got this.
