KEROSENE | KEN
8:45 PM
ATLANTA, GA.

"MA'S LOOKING FOR YOU." the dreadheaded man walked into kerosene's childhood room. it was decorated just as she left it before college , her walls filled with jhene aiko albums.

the bed dipped at her brothers presence. he gently tapped her as ken watched her still body lay in the full sized bed.

her body was trapped underneath the covers 'n just by the pile of tissues he could tell she'd been crying. this was a never ending cycle since she got to atlanta.

she got there 3 and a half weeks ago, but to her it felt like years. she'd just been cooped up in her room the whole time, sulking herself from the dramatic turn her life had took.

her families disappointment in her did not make it any better.

her relationship with jordan had run dry. he texted her the occasional "how's my son?" in which she merely replied "he's fine!" and that was that.

the day after she left, he had a terrible game. he only scored 5 points and his stat sheet was ass, but he'd come to the terms that she was doing this to make herself happy and that she'd be back.

again, there was nothing he could do. stressing that through his skull was a hard pill to swallow, but he did it.

they knocked the grizzlies & mavericks out of the conference semi finals, and were now on game 6 of playing the celtics.

her social media was just filled with reports of how well he was doing. the hype surrounding the w had finally died down.

the series was 3-2, so she just knew they had that championship in the bag. she was nothing but proud of him.

she yearned to be by his side when the buzzer sounded off, but her mind clock did not remember the important days anymore. she missed him and she missed their relationship.

her friendship with taylor on the other hand... yikes.

admitting she was wrong was something kerosene never did. the 1 occasional time that she did was to just get jordan to talk to her. she'd only put her pride aside for him because that was 50% of her baby's DNA— taylor though?

that wasn't her co-worker no more, she said some weird stuff about kerosene and jordan, and most importantly... she was a snitch.

maybe not a snitch in the traditional way, but she was the only reason that every negative thing that exited kerosene's mouth entered jordan's ears.

if their trust level was to ever get to as high as it was, they both need to set some boundaries on certain things.

other than that, spending much needed time with her long distance family was swell.

they all gathered for a family shindig on the fine saturday evening. "tell her i'll be down in just a second" the woman's teary voice replied.

ken dramatically groaned. he was sick of seeing hi sister like this.

when she first got there, he was abusing her with the "i told you so" 's or the "you should've listened to me" 's. she would shrug it off 'cause she found it annoying, but he didn't mean that much harm.

it was funny at first, but now seeing her heartbroken over a man she knew for a short time was sickening.

"bro kero get the fuck up" he bluntly said while throwing the covers off her. she was fully dressed under them, which means she planned to go downstairs but just couldn't bear to.
