Chapter 9: Royal Paperwork

Emerald pov: "Sis wake up! We are going to be late!" I groaned while opening my eyes. Better wake up now, cause I don't think my back can handle any more pain. Sans is still sleeping...he's lucky he can still sleep a bit more. As I headed downstairs the smell of pasta filled the air. Papyrus spaghetti to be honest...is a working progress but it's edible, anyways i've tried worse things. "hey bro" "GOOD MORNING SANS!" Papyrus said while Sans sat down. When we were finished with breakfast we were ready to meet the king. "hey bro, since the castle is far away, why not a shortcut?" he asked Papyrus. Shortcut? What did he mean by shortcut? "WHILE I DO PREFER WALKING IT IS FASTER...HMM VERY WELL" "ok you better get ready and hold on now." While i didnt know what a shortcut meant I did (sorta of) trust him. I hold on to my brother who was near Sans and appeared somewhere else?! It was definitely not Snowdin...Did we just teleport? "WOW you can teleport" "yep" my brother was really amazed. So that's what a shortcut means, it's probably how he appears and disappears out of nowhere. "NOW THAT WE ARE HERE LETS US CONTINUE." While walking I noticed the tall castle. There were buildings all around. I'm surprised we are still underground.

Leo pov: Wwooaahh. All of this is so amazing! It all looked so huge and the halls looked so nice although they were really long. Also since it was so quiet it was sort of creepy, a bit. On the end of the hallway I saw something yellow? But no matter how much we walked, it seemed we never got there. I looked up ahead, it seemed like a fancy chair and there were a lot of yellow flowers. I wonder if that's the throne room? And there was someone watering them. When we finally went through the room it looked dark but the flowers made it look more alive? Lively! "hey Asgore" "Oh hello Sans and hello to you Papyrus" Asgore said. He was very tall, and had a golden beard, and big horns. He looked a bit like Toriel. I wonder if they know each other? He also had golden armor and a purple cape. "And I'm guessing these two are the new humans that fell. He walked closer to me and my sister and kneeled down "Well hello you two. What might tour names be?" he said in a calm voice. "My name is Emerald and this is my little brother Leo" "Hi! It's nice to meet you" I said. He chuckled a bit "Energetic aren't you" "And excited, I've never met a king before" he only chucked more. "Well then it's time to finish these paperworks" he then got up and left somewhere. He came back with two towers of papers "You would have to fill these papers. I know they might seem a lot but most of them are just signatures" Asgore explained. He then handed the papers to my sister "you can bring them anytime although the sooner the better." "Oh okay, thank you Asgore" My sister said. "Ready to head home" I nodded, "Bye Asgore, have a nice day" He waved back and we were teleported back home.

Emerald pov: Once we entered I decided to set the papers sown in the kitchen table. Might as well start reading through them. Papyrus and my brother walked to the living room. I think they were gonna watch a movie. "Ok then let's see these papers" I said to myself while I was beginning to read. Most of the papers were just information about the laws and some were personal questions. While signing wasn't a problem, it was some of the questions that confused me. Input checkbox information? Soul trait? What was that supposed to mean? "somethings wrong?" Sans walked in with a ketchup bottle, honestly he kinda spooked me. I sorta of just dosed in my thoughts for a minute. "Umm, yeah do you mind helping me?I don't understand some stuff" "sure, ask away" he said as sat in a chair. "What's a checkbox and soul trait mean?" "well a checkbox is a way to check someone's stats and information. As for soul traits....that's a little harder to explain. But putting simply every person has a soul, and that soul is the very essence of one's being meaning" essence of one's being? So that means "so your soul reflects who you are" "bingo. Now humans usually can have one of seven traits: patience, bravery, integrity, justice, kindness, perseverance, and determination" Weird, it sounds like some video game mechanic. "And how do I open my check box?" I asked. "Here let me try" once he said that a weird box appeared. EMERALD 5 ATK 2 DEF 2 *Will do anything to protect her brother *Is calmly taking in the new information "Sheesh kid your stats are pretty low" huh, i thought they would be higher for some reason. I quickly jotted down the info. "Now try summoning your soul, think of something that you live by, like morals" I thought about it for a second. I then thought about it......suddenly a green yellow heart appeared by my chest. Was that my soul? "What type of trait is that?" "i'm not sure, I haven't seen that type of soul before. we could visit Alphs later to check it out." I left it blank, now my brothers turn. "Um sans could you show me how to check someone's checkbox" he started to teach and explain to me. "you just got to think out of the box" "SANS I CAN HEAR YOUR TERRIBLE PUNS FROM HERE!" "hehe, so do you rhino you got it?" "I think so." "here try it on me first" I remembered what he told me before and...it worked! SANS 1 ATK 1 DEF 1 *The easiest monster. I kind of thought he was also stronger but.....I guess I'm wrong? I decided to finish up by doing my brother LEO 20 ATK 5 DEF 16 *Is ready for anything and loves his sister dearly. "WOWIE YOUR SOUL IS GREEN!" "Green? COOL! But what does that mean?" "it means your soul trait is kindness" Sans said."well that explains a lot. He is the kindest and caring person" i said. "Yep" he smiled happily. "NOW IT'S GETTING LATE, OFF TO BED YOU TWO" After a long day of signing papers and visiting the king, i think we do deserve a nice little nap. "Good night Leo, Good night to you to Papyrus" "Night Sis, Night Sans" I opened the door and collapsed on the floor. Finally some time to catch some Zs.........and probably get another nightmare.
