CHAPTER 1
First Day At WorkJin looked at himself in the floor-length mirror and sighed inaudibly.
He was wearing designer clothes from head to toe --- all groomed, sleek and sophisticated --- but he just couldn't shake a feeling of foreboding deep within him as he would start his first day today at THV Corporation.
I should have never accepted Taehyung's offer.
Attempting to mix professional and personal lives would be tricky for anyone, let alone someone whose personal life included a possessive, incredulous billionaire boyfriend.
That possessive, incredulous billionaire boyfriend will be your boss starting today, too, Jin.
The only reason he hesitantly accepted the intern position in THV Corporation was because frankly, Jin was in no position to turn any job offerings down.
Why am I so worried? I got the job on my own! Taehyung didn't even know I applied in his company!
Or at least that is what he told you, his other petty self yawned. But do you believe him?
Shut up.
He shook his head, trying to clear that uncomfortable thought.
On a positive note, this would be a stepping stone for Jin to something else as THV Corporation was a well-respected, number one group of companies in the country. If Jin had not met Taehyung a few months ago in Hawaii, he would have been so excited to have landed on an opportunity like this.
It is unbearable just to think if I have never met him now.
He looked back in the mirror one last time.
This will have to do.
He sighed heavily, making his way towards the great room of their penthouse.
Taehyung was sitting at the breakfast bar in his brown Alexander McQueen suit, looking every inch the CEO of a corporation. He was also wearing a tie, the one Jin bought for him last month, and a crisp, white shirt.
He really looks good in anything, and everyone knows it, Jin thought grimly.
Taehyung's hair was still tousled and a bit damp around the tips from the shower.
He looks so edible.
As Jin sauntered towards him, Taehyung looked at him up and down appreciatively.
"Good morning, babe. You look gorgeous. All set for your first day?" Taehyung asked.
Jin tensed, and Taehyung sensed his mood in an instant, climbing down from the stool gracefully and strode over to him, grabbing his chin and forcing him to look him in the eye.
"What's wrong, baby?" Taehyung murmured, his eyes searching his face. "Are you still worried? You know you have nothing to worry about."
Jin relaxed his head towards Taehyung's touch, conscious that Mrs. Cha, Taehyung's housekeeper, was cooking breakfast over on the far side of the kitchen. She looked at Jin and smiled warmly in response to his nervous glimpse before she discreetly turned away.
He took a deep breath, lowering his voice before replying, "Tae, I'm still thinking this is a really bad idea."
Taehyung snorted, bemused, but said nothing.
"I don't want to be known as the one who only got the job because he is fucking the boss. I will be ridiculed and detested and will be treated with suspicion by everyone, thinking I will be running back to you telling a boatload of crap. This is my new job after a year of being unemployed, and this is my chance to a fresh start. Along the way, I want to commit my own mistakes without everyone jumping on me because of my connection to you."
