Luna waited until nightfall to make her move. She knew that if Aiden was indeed the sunflower thief, he would likely be asleep by now. She crept through the darkness, her heart pounding in her chest as she approached the small house where she had seen Aiden enter.

As she neared the front door, Luna saw a light on in one of the upstairs windows. She paused, listening for any signs of movement, but all she could hear was the sound of crickets chirping in the night.

Taking a deep breath, Luna slowly turned the doorknob and pushed the door open. It creaked loudly, and she winced, hoping she hadn't woken anyone up.

Luna tiptoed through the living room, her eyes scanning the area for any sign of Aiden or the stolen sunflowers. As she crept up the stairs, the floorboards groaned under her weight, making her heart race even faster.

At the top of the stairs, Luna found herself outside a closed door. She could hear muffled voices coming from inside, but couldn't make out what they were saying.

She pressed her ear against the door, trying to listen in. Suddenly, the door swung open, and Luna stumbled forward, almost falling into the room.

Aiden stood in front of her, looking surprised and a little bit angry. "What are you doing here?" he demanded.

Luna's mind went blank for a moment, but she quickly regained her composure. "I saw you with the sunflowers," she said, her voice shaking slightly. "I know you're the thief."

Aiden looked at her for a moment, his expression unreadable. Then he let out a sigh and motioned for Luna to follow him into the room.

The room was filled with sunflowers. There were vases and jars of them all over the place, and Luna could see that many of them were freshly picked. Aiden gestured towards them, a sad look on his face.

"I'm not the thief," he said quietly. "I'm actually the one trying to save them."

Luna looked at him, confused. "What do you mean?"

Aiden took a deep breath. "The sunflowers are being stolen by a group of developers who want to build a new housing development in this area. They're trying to clear the land and get rid of everything in their way, including the sunflowers."

Luna felt her heart sink. She had suspected something like this, but it was still shocking to hear it confirmed.

"We have to stop them," Luna said, determination in her voice. "We have to save the sunflowers."

Aiden nodded, a small smile on his face. "I was hoping you'd say that."
