Kara grinds her teeth as she reads through the files, the contents infuriating to a level that she's never felt before.

She can't believe that they broke into Maxwell Lord's building, almost got caught and hid in a ceiling all so she can find out that the mole from CatCo that caused her to be targeted and lose most of her possessions is one of her supposed best friends.

Lena strolls into the room, a plate with a sandwich in one hand and a mug of tea in the other. "Here you go, darling."

Lena has been waiting on her hand and foot since her stitches got reopened and is insisting on doing everything she can to make her more comfortable and give her the time she needs to heal properly before they go out and do anything else stupid.

"Thank you." Kara doesn't take her eyes off of the page, rereading over and over again, trying to find the part where it says, 'April Fools!' somewhere but it doesn't and it's not April.

Lena frowns, she can see the crinkle taking up residence between Kara's eyebrows and she doesn't like it one bit. "What's wrong?"

Kara just wordlessly hands the file over to her, shell-shocked and disappointed. She can't pinpoint any of her emotions at this point, lost in the betrayal and humiliation of letting someone so close to her that obviously doesn't really care about her or her family.

Lena perches on the edge of the bed as she lets her eyes wander over each word, not understanding why Kara is so upset until she reaches the line that makes her brain falter. "James is working with Maxwell Lord?"

"It seems like it." Kara can't keep the hurt out of her voice, so disappointed in James, the man that is her cousin's best friend and who she thought was also her friend. "It must have been him that the guy in the parking garage was on the phone to. He was filling him in on every little detail he could get his weaselly little hands on."

As much as she's trying to suppress her rage, it's emanating off her in waves and making Lena uncomfortable, it's too much of a struggle and she just can't do it. Lena's never seen Kara so mad before and she has no idea what to do, or if she should even do anything at all.

Kara wants nothing more than to drive over to James' place and rip him a new one but unfortunately for her, the story and the delicacy that surrounds it is more important than her need to attack James for what he's done.

With a deep breath that does very little to actually calm her down, she finally looks Lena in the eyes, feeling guilty when she sees the awkwardness lingering there because Lena doesn't know how to react to her. "Sorry, I'm calm now."

"You're clenched fists tell another story." Lena disputes lightly, pressing her shoulder to Kara's.

"I'm getting there." Kara actually manages a tiny smile, even if she isn't feeling remotely happy, there's always a tiny spark of joy hidden somewhere when Lena is around. "I have to be as cool as a cucumber when I call Cat and discuss this with her later, she'll kill me if I go back on what I said about writing this piece together."

Lena falters at that, taking a moment to phrase her next question right. "So, you're going to tell her that James is the mole?"

Kara nods. "I have to. We can get the article finished in a couple of days, I'm sure of that. Until then Cat can make up some excuse to get him out of the office, so he doesn't know what's going on. He needs to be moved away from other reporters though, if he can stab me in the back, he can do it to others and not everyone has an insanely generous girlfriend to back them up."

Lena leans in to press a noisy kiss to the corner of Kara's mouth. "In that case, I'll help you go through some of these files. You said that it would take you all day, but maybe with the two of us, we can get it done by dinner time and then you can get a head start on the article."
