Kate Kane is getting just as good as she was giving.

Kara has been progressively ramping up her flirting throughout the night and it's getting difficult for Lena to hold back her laughter every time she watches Kara wiggle her eyebrows or send a cheesy smile over at Kate just for her to them look back at her and wink in the dorkiest way possible.

It's hilarious to see Kate's horrified expression every time Kara flirts with her without an ounce of subtlety, and the way her mouth keeps dropping open and her eyebrows shoot up makes Lena's wicked little inner goblin cackle in delight at Kara's master plan coming into fruition.

Lena can't keep the tiny smirk off her face which means that she has to look away and pretend to be admiring something else whenever Kate looks over at her, her eyebrows pinched in worry and her hands clenched into nervous fists.

"I think it's working," Kara whispers excitedly to her when Kate starts leaving to go and grab them some drinks.

Lena watches Kate's retreating form, waiting for the moment when she has actually left to respond. "That was incredible, darling! It's definitely working." Kara's smile falters a tiny bit, just enough for Lena to take notice despite Kara hiding it well. "Ok, what's wrong?"

"I feel like I'm being mean."

Lena ducks her head, chuckling. "You are too nice for your own good, you know that?"

Kara sighs gently. "It's fine but I think I should stop, I don't want to go too far and upset her, I think she's learned her lesson."

Looking into Kara's eyes, Lena is enamoured with the kindness and mischief that manages to swirl together, the two conflicting components twisting and flurrying inside those blue-beaming orbs. "I think we should do whatever you're comfortable with."

"We'll stop then." Kara leans in to press a soft peck to her lips. "I love you."

"I love you too." Lena's hands move up to cup Kara's cheeks, not letting her move far away at all, pulling her back in when she tries to move away, not that Kara is trying very hard to move away.

Kara hooks her arms over Lena's shoulders, resting her forehead against Lena's, content to simply be.

They sway softly to the sound of their own hearts, eyes closed and embracing each other softly, trusting the other to stay.

"Sorry to interrupt you two lovebirds, I got us drinks," Kate announces her presence as she re-enters the library. "I was thinking that maybe you'd like to watch a movie. I have a sheet and a projector set up in one of the rooms down the hall."

Kara smiles at her softly. "Thanks, Kate. That sounds great."

Lena hooks her arm around Kara's waist and they make their way over to the doorway where Kate is waiting, taking their drinks from her when they get there and letting her lead them to the other room, now in agreement that they have a nice time now that they've gotten their revenge.

Lena wakes up bright and early the next day and in a wonderful mood to boot. She tiptoes out of bed to shower and get dressed before heading out of their room to go and find the kitchen for coffee and maybe a bite to eat.

It's not a massive surprise that it's easier to navigate around the building when Kara isn't the one leading the way but Lena's not mad about it, she's the one who confidently followed a woman with a distinct lack of sense of direction.

Kate is already sitting in the kitchen, perched on a chair at the kitchen table with a newspaper spread out in front of her.

"Good morning, Kate." Lena's voice is light but quiet, trying not to startle the other woman.
