Chapter 24 ' Something New '

Zeres inner monologue : I look around the city and find it mostly empty 

So after expanding an energy wave around the city and being sure it's empty, I disintegrate the empty city to make sure no one tries to use it for a hiding place and speed towards another city to find the other entrants 

                                                               'Entrant-0788 POV'

My name is Cynthia graythorn I belong to one of the 10 most prestigious Infiknight families however unlike the rest of my family I have no actual talent and I have not even awakened my ability yet, I sense a large group of entrants it seems that it is a group of entrants that is teaming up for this exam, it consists of more than 2000 Entrants then I see the leader it's the person that came in 8th place on last examination entrant-9674 Boris blasfield, they are all gathered in the cities main street 

Then Boris uses a speaker and says  

Boris : Ms. Graythorn We know you are here, all our families have been oppressed by the Graythorn's for years, today We will shame the Graythorn's by taking your ID card and making you the first Graythorn to ever fail the Infiknight entrance exam. Today you the privileged one will be the one failing.

They then start using their abilities to destroy buildings to find me 

I try to run but the outer walls of the building I am in get destroyed and a gigantic demonic arm tries to capture me but before it can reach me I create and use an enerlite sword to open a path out of the building and jump out then I use enerlite to create wings to fly out of the city but I notice a barrier in place so I come down to the main street in front of their group and prepare for combat 

Boris : You think you can beat all of us on your own, classic arrogant behaviour from a Graythorn 

Cynthia inner monologue : I don't say anything because I have no interest in conversing with them if we are going to fight then I will just have to use my superior reserves of enerlite to bring down their numbers quickly and efficiently

Just then as I was preparing myself for combat I sensed an extremely fast object approaching the city and in a mere instant Boris and his group were beaten half to death, I couldn't even see a single hit from the person responsible and realised that He defeated all them using nothing but the shock waves from his speed then from the cloud emerged the person responsible it was the rank 1 entrant-8248 from the first examination Zeres chronofix, He starts using psyionic waves to collect the participants ID cards once he is done collecting them, He starts walking towards me and all I can do is stare at him in shock of his abilities 

                                                            ' Zeres POV '

Zeres inner monologue : this was quite a fortunate turn of events I found so many entrants gathered here now I should be able pass this stage of the examination without any trouble at all, but why is that girl staring at me does She blame me for stealing her prey I do have ID cards worth 20000 points now and I only need 1000 guess I can give her half maybe then She will stop staring at me plus it was her they were trying to attack anyway so it's only fair.

I start walking towards her and say

Zeres : Excuse me you there 

Cynthia : Y-Yes what is it Entrant-8248 Zeres chronofix?

Zeres : You don't have to say all that simply call me Zeres 

Then I throw the bag with half of the ID cards to her and She catches it

Cynthia : What is this?

Zeres : ID cards I took from those guys I just beat

Cynthia : I know that but why are you giving me half of them I didn't do anything?

Zeres : They were targeting you plus I don't need that many points now We both have 10000 points each now so we should be able to pass no problem, well see you later

Cynthia : Where are you going?

Zeres : The submission desk to submit these ID cards 

Cynthia : The submission desk won't be open till after 16 hours from now

Zeres : I see guess I will just have to wait for a bit 

Cynthia : I know I am asking for something unreasonable but can I join you in waiting?

Zeres : Sure no problem 

Cynthia : You agreed so easily don't you think I am being unfair and using you for your strength?

Zeres : You are simply trying to protect yourself it's obvious that you have a lot of power but you don't know yet how to use your powers effectively, So I don't blame you for trying to protect yourself by staying with me

Cynthia : I can't even use true  my ability yet I am mostly useless for everything other than enerlite manipulation, I apologise for being so pathetic and thank you for accepting my unreasonable request

Zeres : All of us awaken our true abilities at different times so don't worry about it, You are fighting here even when you are at a disadvantage against the other participants who have complete use of their true abilities so don't call yourself pathetic if anything you are rather brave 

Cynthia inner monologue : That is the first time in my life I have not been mocked for my inability to use my true ability this man Zeres  chronofix, He even called me brave truly He is the kindest person I have met in my life

Cynthia : Thank you very much Zeres you are extremely kind 

Zeres : And before I forget what is your name?

Cynthia : Well it makes sense you don't know my name I am the person that got rank 6 in the last examination Cythia graythorn please just refer to me as Cynthia

Zeres : Understood Cynthia, Now Let's go camp somewhere for the next 16 hours

Cynthia : Yes lets go.

We decide to camp in one of the buildings I used my abilities to light a flame and create ingredients while Cynthia cooks, I also create a table for us to eat upon once Cynthia is done cookingShe brings the food to the table and I am pleased to see that the steak looks very pleasant and smells heavenly too. I take a bite and say 

Zeres : This is delicious Cynthia your cooking is splendid

Cynthia : Thank you Zeres I am glad that you like my cooking

Zeres : No need to thank me I was simply stating the truth 

We continue to talk for a while then We decide to take turns keeping watch while the other sleeps, I told Cynthia that I don't need sleep but She insisted that I rest and took the first watch herself for 4 hours after I awoke it was my turn to keep watch and Cynthia walked towards the bed I created 

Zeres : Goodnight Cynthia sleep well

Cynthia : Thank you Zeres please wake me up in 4 hours so we can start our journey to the submission platform where the desk for submission of ID cards is located 

Zeres : off course 

Soon Cynthia is in deep sleep looking at her trusting me with her life and sleeping so soundly reminded me of my days in the military in my own world but looking out the window of this building the way the night sky here looks is so different yet serene looking at the night sky I say to myself 

Zeres : Maybe in this strange other world I will find
