"well...what are y'all eating?" i asked the gang.

"i want strawberry crepe!" akane shouted.

"me too!" hina agreed

"you guys like the same stuff, no fun. i want umm matcha ice cream!" alicia said.

"...i'll have a blueberry mochi ice cream." wanderer said. 

"alright, waiter!!" i called for the waiter.

"yes? may i take your order?" he asked.

"uhh, a matcha ice cream, two strawberry crepes, blueberry mochi ice cream and a stack of pancakes please!"

"sure! please wait." he said as he went to input our order.

"n/n! can i add him into our groupchat?" 

"ask him abt it."

"...w h a t. i- uhm- sure." wanderer awkwardly replied.

"YAY!" alicia shouted.

"here are your orders!" a waitress said and put our desserts on the table. 

"thank you!" i thanked the waitress and so did the others except wanderer but you know how he is. 

everyone ate quietly but wanderer kept making comments like, "this is so cold!" and "ew, it's melting."

"just shut your mouth. enjoy the food." i complained to him.

after we finished the food, we left the cafe without paying- no we paid- i mean i paid.

"guys, my mom's telling me to go back." hina said.

"oh alright, bye guys, we're about to leave anyways." i replied.

"okay bye y/nn" all three of them cried when i started walking away from the group.

we quickly returned home, thanks to wanderer. 

"so, i gotta do my homework, find something to fiddle with but dont set anything on fire. wait lemme turn on the tv for you." i told him.

"what's a 'tv'?" he asked me. seriously? he doesn't know?

"oh, it's a large device that can play animated stuff."

"oh... okay."

with that, i turned on the television and he gasped in fascination. CUTEE- wait i shouldn't be thinking about that!

"i'll be upstairs, studying for my midterms."

"okay, i'll be here."

a while later...

"Y/N! THE DOOR'S RINGING!" he called from downstairs.

"oh, i ordered something, help me get the door!" i called back.

"it's... food? smells good." 

"im coming down, it's called pizza."

i cut the pizza in 8 halves, gave 4 to wanderer and 4 for myself. we were watching the raptors vs lakers on the tv. 

"YEAHHHH" i cheered for lakers, wanderer was as confused as frick. 

"oh sorry, this is called basketball, a sport a lot of people play." i told him

"oh, i see... it seems fun, could you teach me?" he asked

"sure, but i'm not that much of an expert on basketball myself." i shrugged

"i just need the basics, i'm sure i'll be able to surpass you in no time."

"sure you will. but can't you just look at the people on the tv and learn from them?"

"they're small. i can't really see what they're doing."

"that's the magic of the tv. they're actually normal size if you see them in person but here, they're smaller than it seems."

"that's... magic? i don't trust you worm."

"you can go watch a real game with me, sometime."

"really?!"

"yes, now shut up and enjoy your pizza quietly and watch the game."

"..."

the rest of the dinner session was just crunching sounds and me cheering for lakers. it was an awkward dinner, really, even when i was living alone, it wasn't like THIS quiet. i had the tv with me at all times before. maybe i should take monday off so i can tell wanderer what to do when i'm not home and slack off a bit. 

time skip again

"hello sir?" me on the phone, telling my professor i need to take monday off, heh.

"yes, who is this?"

"it's y/n l/n."

"why have you called me at this hour?"

"i'm sorry to disturb you at such a late hour, sir, but i must ask to take monday off because a friend of mine from japan has come to live with me and haven't been able to adjust. may i stay home to take care of him for one day?"

"of course, but might i ask, who is this young man?"

"his name is haruto nakamura."

"i see. very well, you may take the day off. good day, y/n l/n."

"the same to you, sir." 

and i hanged up the phone in excitement, I CAN'T BELIEVE I ACTUALLY GOT A DAY OFF YAAAAAAA!!!
