It had been a couple of weeks since the incident that made me go into a hospital. I got that restraining order because of Lucas. Braydon slapped him in the face when he was outside of the hospital room and they're not friends anymore.

Since that incident, I wasn't allowed to go to school for a couple of weeks. But today, is the day I take off my bandages. It's been kind of easy for me, but not so much. At least Elisa came over a lot.

I stood in the bathroom. I looked at the mirror. I felt my heart pound. I slowly took off the bandages. I froze.

A scar was across half of my face. I began to cry. I opened the eye and everything was bright. I could barely see. It cleared up, but I still had trouble seeing. "Oh, great. Now, I'm blind. . ." I said, tears were rolling down my face. "Or maybe it's sensitive to the light." Braydon said, putting his arm around my shoulder. "I think you look pretty cool with the scar. Plus, scars mean you went through something tough in the past. Survived it, and came back stronger. That's what My Pride taught me." He chuckled and ruffled my hair up. "Isn't that series from Youtube?" I asked. "Yep." He then walked away.

I wiped my tears with my hoodie sleeve, and began to smile at what Braydon said.

I walked out of the bathroom shutting the door behind me. I began to walk to the kitchen, but bumped into the wall. "Ow. Sorry wall." I patted the wall. I walked into the kitchen and hugged my mom, "Mariah, your dad's coming here today. Oh! By the way, you better hurry to the bus stop. It's 6:53 am." My mom smirked. "Mom!" I put on my backpack and followed Braydon out of the door and walked down to the bus stop.

I opened my locker, and grabbed my Science textbook and shut it. Someone hugged me from behind. It was Elisa. "I missed you . ." She said with a frown. I turned around and hugged her. She grabbed my waist. "I missed you too. Even though I saw you two days ago." I kissed her on the cheek.

I let go of the hug and began to walk away. I bumped into someone who was on my 'bad eye' side and fell backwards. Elisa started to walk over to me worried but then stopped when the person I bumped into held out their hand, "Are you okay?" The voice said. They held out their hand and I grabbed it. "Thanks . . ." I said, "No problem. Nice scar by the way. I understand it's your 'bad eye' now?" They said through their black mask. I nodded. "Great. My name is Lynn." Lynn looked like they smiled, "Uhm . . . I'm Mariah! Everyone calls me Mia though." I smiled. I looked Lynn up and down. They had 'emo' pants that had pronoun pins attached to them and had an oversized black shirt. "Hey! Your pants remind me of my backpack." I walked to my locker and grabbed my bag. I then walked over to Lynn and showed it to them. "Oh, cool. It does match." Lynn's curly faded dyed purple hair bounced. "Anyways, I gotta get to class." Lynn waved goodbye and then left. "They're so cool." I smiled, my eyes looking like they were sparkling. "I know right? I love their outfit." Elisa said behind me.

I nodded with a blush, "Yeah. So cool." I said. Elisa hugged me again. I hugged back.

I walked down the hallway and went into the bathroom. I held my hair back and sighed. I then let go. I then began to cry. I didn't know why, I just did. I then heard a ding from my phone.

Me: I wish I could hold you forever.

Elisa: Me too. See you at school!

Me: Yep! Love you.

(New message!) Elisa: Wanna go to a park? The Robinwood Park?
