I yawned, as I made my way out of bed. I looked at my alarm clock; it was 6:10 am. I opened my dresser, grabbed some clothing and began to put them on. I believe a black shirt with jean shorts is a good outfit? Hopefully it is. .

I then heard my mom shout, "Mariah! Come out, your father is on the phone and wants to speak to you!" I paused, grabbing my puzzle piece necklace that matched my best friend, Elisa's half. I opened the door and walked out, shutting it behind me. "Did you get your homework done, Mia?" My mother asked me, as she put down the clippers after clipping some of my older brother's mustache hair off, "Don't you look handsome, Braydon." I said with a smirk on my face, "Oh shut up, Mia. Your haircut reminds me of that hot popular girl, Helen." Braydon said. I chuckled, "Isn't that your girlfriend? The one with the shoulder length hair and the way that the hair curls out at the end?" I said, putting textbooks inside my black backpack that had pronoun pins all over. "Yep. That's her."

I rolled my eyes, "What time is it?" My mom looked at me and stared down at her watch, "6:52 am. You should hurry to the bus stop." I nodded, as I put on my backpack and rushed out the door. Braydon followed behind me.

I rushed through the halls, and then finally stopped at my locker. My heart was racing. A voice startled me, "Oh, look, It's Miss Homo." Dawn said, the name referring to how I like girls. "What do you and your two squad girls want, Dawn?" I said, trying to look like I didn't care. I do care. I wanted to tell you something." Dawn walked forward, pinning me to the locker. She smirked. "I bet you like this, don't you?" Dawn got closer to me, and I began to panic. She then pulled out a water balloon and popped it with a needle, the water soaking my clothes and my hair. "Have fun with that," She walked away with her squad.

I stared blankly down at the floor, wanting to cry. I flinched when someone touched my arm, it was Elisa. "Are you okay?" Elisa frowned and then hugged me. "I don't understand why she does this. I never done anything to her." I began to cry, tears slipping down my cheeks. "Shhh. . . it's gonna be okay, Mia." Elisa whispered to me. I hugged her tighter. Elisa pulled away from me and gently grabbed my hand, "Come on, I have some spare clothing you can wear." She grabbed the extra clothing from her locker and we walked to the bathroom. I opened the stall and began to take off my clothes. The water from the soaked clothes spread onto the floor. I smiled as I put the spare clothes on.

I'm happy that I have a best friend that cares about me. I love her.
