Rest In Peace - Taylor Austin Dye

Y/N POV

Jay Michael Adams, thirty-five
Kentucky born and he survived
By his wife and his three boys
Good lord
Plain wooden casket
Peace Lilies and wicker basket
Dry eyes, it's no surprise
He was living on borrowed time
Who did it?
Who done did it?
Somebody took one for the team
Who did it?
Who done did it?
Never gonna find out it was me

My cheek started to sting, as i looked up at them. Tears came up to my eyes, as i walked out of the house, and to my car. I wiped the tears as i dialed Sam.

She called me up at quarter past three
"Big sister, he hit me"
Enough is enough, said, "give me fifteen"
'Cause bloods thicker than whiskey
I waited long enough 'til he was blackout drunk
Cinder block on the pedal, threw him in his truck
Ashes to ashes and dust to dust
Who did it?
Who done did it?
Never gonna find out it was me
Who did it?
Who done did it?
Take it to the grave, baby, rest in peace

SAM POV

Tara was watching  'The Babadook',  as it was movie night. My phone started to ring, Y/n's name popping up. i answered the phone and held it up to my ear. I heard y/n's sobs on the other end of the line. "Y/n? What's wrong?" i asked stopping what i was doing. "he hit me." "give me fifteen minutes." i said hanging up. I put my shoes on, tara noticing.

His mama's still crying
And the preachers keeps on lying
No, he was nota man of God
'Cause he been caught too many times
He was a thief and a cheater, a natural born deceiver
But the moment that he beat her
His ass was mine
She called me up at quarter past three
"Big sister, he hit me"
Enough is enough said, "give me fifteen"
'Cause bloods thicker than whiskey
I waited long enough 'til he was blackout drunk
Cinder block on the pedal, threw him in his truck
Ashes to ashes and dust to dust

"who was it?" tara asked, pausing the movie. "Y/N forgot their laptop." i lied, as tara nodded. i grabbed the laptop to keep the lie going. i walked out the door and drove to y/n.

Who did it?
Who done did it?
Never gonna find out it was me
Who did it?
Who done did it?
Take it to the grave, baby, rest in peace

Y/N POV

I saw headlights coming down the quite road. The car stopped as sam got out.

I don't claim to be a saint
But no, it didn't feel like a sin
It felt like he got what was coming to him

i got out, and started to explain everything that had happened. "Go back home to tara." i was confused, as the tears stopped. "Sam—" "Go!" i nodded and did. But before i did i saw sam go inside the house.

She called me up at quarter past three
"Big sister, he hit me"
Enough is enough said, "give me fifteen"

When i woke up the next day I saw that my ex was dead, as sam smiled a bit. I couldn't help but smile as well.

'Cause bloods thicker than whiskey
I waited long enough 'til he was blackout drunk
Cinder block on the pedal, threw him in his truck
Ashes to ashes and dust to dust
Who did it?
Who done did it?
Never gonna find out it was me
Who did it?
Who done did it?

When we were at the funeral, people were asking each other, "Who did it?" . I knew who had killed them. I knew who made me free. I knew who would take it to the grave with them. Sam Carpenter. And who can say i'm mad?

Take it to the grave, baby, rest in peace
