Y/n Pov
We are lead to the Slytherin Dorms by a prefect who has not yet introduced us. As we're walking down to the dungeons, air growing colder with each step, I take a long minute to study the prefect. Senku always told me to observe my surroundings and while I didn't pick up on a lot of his other "science-y" techniques, that was one of the ones that stuck. The prefect's hair is long, tied in some sort of ponytail-braid hybrid. It's a guy- I only know this because Yor was gushing about how hot one of the prefects was, describing his hair as a hot chocolate brown (terrible, but accurate description, by the way) and his matching eyes, that, apparently, always head a sort of warmth in them. What Yor didn't tell me, it how fit the guy looked. He's got at least 90 pounds on me, most of it muscle by the looks of him.
I start to think that we can't possibly go any further underground when we stop at a metal barricaded door. A bit too much, if you ask me. The prefect turns around and everyone stops in their tracks. He doesn't exactly introduce himself- at least not in the way I expected. "I'm Tsukasaa Shishio, the Head Boy of Slytherin." Oh. So he got promoted this year? Good for him, I suppose. "This is the Slytherin Dormitory area. In case you weren't listening during the Headmistress' speech, curfew is at ten every night. The password changes every month." He turns toward the door, then loudly says, "Persephone." Choosing the goddess queen of the underworld seemed like an odd decision but who am I to question the (dumb) adults?
The door slides open, and reveals the common room. Everything is decked out in hues of the Slytherin colors, from the silver speckled black bricks to the green velvet couches. Two staircases head up from both sides of the common room to doorways on each side. Another doorway is right in front of us, but is securely blocked off with a lock (that would probably take five seconds to alohamora). Our Head of House, and potions teacher, stands in the middle of the common room, looking as dramatic as ever. He's wearing a tailored black suit with fancy silver decals and his platinum blond hair is slicked back. "Welcome Slytherins. I'm Professor Malfoy, and I'm your head of house. Boys' rooms are to the left, girls' are to the right, and if you don't feel comfortable wherever you've been placed- if you ask me, Headmistress McGonagall is wonderful, but rather old fashioned sometimes- that's what the extra room is for down here. Any questions?"
A tiny first year who's name I don't remember at all, raises their hand. "Do we have to go to bed now?"
Professor Malfoy checks his watch and nods. "Yes, you all have to go to bed now. It's the first days of classes tomorrow, and I promise it will be the worst."
Everyone audibly groans but heads to the rooms regardless. After I head up the stairs, I follow the other girls as they scan the papers taped to each door that list our names. I find mine on a door near the end of the hall, along with Yor's and someone named Isa King. I walk in to find a girl, maybe third year at most, already sprawled across a bed. She's pretty, I'll admit it, with wavy magenta hair and sandy tan skin. Her eyes are shifting between a mix of gold and green and thick black rimmed glasses are on her head as a headband, though she's squinting at the book she's trying to read so she probably has terrible eyesight.
Isa looks my way, shaking her head so that her glasses fall back over her eyes. She gives me a small wave and I return the gesture, before she goes back to her book. I don't mind not having a conversation- it's actually kind of nice- as I get ready for bed and begin to mentally prepare myself for the day I'm sure I'll have ahead of me.
A/n: Yes, yes, I know, slow chapters. I'm sorry! Really, I am. I promise the next chapter will be exciting and will be in our wonderful scientist's pov! <3
