There is so much about this situation that bothers me. There are still too many questions unanswered and the morning isn't going the way that I had hoped at all. If anything, the only thing that has happened is that we have lost focus too many times. Here we all sit and we still don't have a solution to catching Slater. This is the goal because it is the only way that I can kill him.

But what would having us all distracted solve? Also, who is to say that this is the only spy that he has made in this clan. I pace the room faster as I start to think. If we are distracted then that leaves him an opening. He sent in food and that made us think that he would target us through the cafeteria.

"Everyone eats in the cafeteria right?" I ask aloud as I think. Several yes's sound out around the room. I can see why that would be a logical choice. Eyeing the box though brings an idea to mind. I walk over to it and reopen it. Lifting one of the vials I uncap it and bring it to my nose.

"What the hell are you doing?" Xander screams as he and others move their mates behind them. I roll my eyes as I turn around with the vial in hand. The scent of it is too strong and none of us would know if it was in our food. This is wrong.

"I can smell this from miles away. Anyone of us would know that this was in our food because the scent is different. Slater has to have another plan" I tell them as I wave the vial in the air. The smell of it permeates the room and I see when my logic dawns on the rest of them. I close the vial and place it back in the box. Everyone continues to watch me as I pace the room.

There is something else. We once heard him talk about chemicals. Do you remember?" my dragon asked.

"Yes, in order to hide the smell of a chemical then they would have to dilute it or change the chemical composition. But changing the chemical composition of this would change what he designed it to do "I reply.

"Where is another place that everyone here frequents often. Somewhere where this could be ingested or touched frequently "I ask as I face Xander. He opens his mouth but I continue talking because I need him to get it right. "It would be somewhere where others would be able to see the commotion of someone sick. Everyone in the clan would know its location and go there often. He would be able to watch what happens there. It's somewhere where you all feel comfortable "I ask him harshly. When I see his face pale I know that he has found it.

"The landing pad" I blink when I try to think of where that is. I have never seen it here before. Xander rises from his chair as he looks me in the eyes. "There is one in every clan here. They are all out in the open. We keep robes there and someone cleans each of the landing pads several times a day to prevent our dragons from touching anything. It's the only place cleared for us to take off in flight or to land. We use them everyday" he says immediately.

"Then that's what will be the target" I tell them confidently. Looking around the room I see that someone has sat Anthony and Adam together in the corner. Anthony has started to gain some of his coloring back since I allowed his wound to close. Walking up to them I kneel before them.

"You both say that you are with us correctly. You say that you have made our clans your home?" I ask them both. They nod their heads without looking at each other and I think. "I need to know every spot where you have met him, or talked to him. Any spot that is close to here at all. I also need you to tell me what he looked like?" I ask them both.

"He was short. His hair is brown and so are his eyes. He had no facial hair. His face was always twisted no matter what mood he was in" Anthony offers. "I have only met him at locations outside of the clan. Normally in another state of forest that was in the upper side of California" he says. I look over to Anthony as he gulps.

"There is an old radio tower just south of here. Every location I have met him has been near or around there. The farthest point was about two miles away. I left a pile of rocks in each location so i wouldn't forget" he says. "The description he gives is off though. I have only seen him one time when I camped out in the forest. His hair is black. He is round around the midsection and always smells like cleaning alcohol" he says as he looks at Anthony with a frown.

"He has someone else here in the clan. Those two descriptions are too different for them to be the same person. If the person isn't in the clan then they are in the surrounding forest "I say as I look at Xander.

"There are guard stations from the government at the base of the mountain. They are to ensure that we never leave" he answers after exchanging a look with Maximus. This is giving us way too many suspects to go through. At least we have a destination close to here to check. Now we are just missing something however.

"We need to send both of these men back to their post" I tell Xander as I rise.

"The hell we are. I will not have these men near anyone in my clan" He yells. "Nor I" The other golden dragon says as he steps forward. I roll my eyes in their direction then decide to do this the logical way. Running tactical missions was my thing.

"If he notices that both of these men who are on his side all of a sudden disappear, then do you not believe that he might do something else? Or worse? If they go back to their post then he can believe that the other part of his plan is working. The kitchens are an important part to him. If it makes you feel any better you can send someone to watch them as they act like nothing has happened" i offer to them.

Both men exchange a look as they look at their traitors and I get frustrated. "We don't have time for you to weigh in on every decision. If you do that then someone could be hurt in the meantime. We have already spent too much time in this office. If you want the option to kill this bastard as much as i do then you need to listen to me"

"NO ONE will be killing my mate!" The golden woman screams as she comes forward with a growl. Her other mate steps forward to grab her as he holds her away from me. She bears her teeth at me as her claws slip out and she fights against his hold. I look at her mate as he looks at her sadly. He stated that he was on my side with this but it looks as if she had no idea of that.

"After all that he has done, can you really still want him?" Julia shouts as she walks toward the woman. Avery whips her head in my mates direction and I step forward. I would much rather have her focus on me then on my mate.

"I have heard what he has done. That is no reason for him to die. Would you so easily sacrifice one of your mates in this manner?" she shouts. Julia goes quiet as she looks at the woman and the lady has her answer. "I didn't think so"

"Avery, this has all gone too far. You know that this is the only way" Her mate says before her.

"No, Salvatore. This is the only way you see. Things always go how you see them. This is one time where I will not stand with you. He hasn't hurt anyone" She says as he finally releases her and she turns to face them.

Then it seems as if the entire day has finally gotten to me. Laughter pools forth in my chest as I laugh at the audacity of the woman. To say that he has never hurt anyone. She doesn't know exactly how many people he has hurt. How many he has maimed and killed. She doesn't know anything and yet she stands here defending her mate blindly.
