Blood.

There was blood everywhere.

I looked around me.

Blood.

Even the distorted sky looked as though it was it was oozing blood.

I looked down at my hands.

Blood.

It was warm, fresh, and a beautiful shade of bright crimson. I felt myself recoil as the metallic smell reached my nose.

"gAh-" The girl woke up drizzled in sweat. Her breath was ragged. She had to force herself to calm down.
"I think that was the third time I had that same exact dream this month." She mumbled to herself. "For some reason, it feels like a gaping hole in my memory..."

The poor girl had started having these frequent dreams for three months now, and they seemed very repetitive, only changing ever so slightly each time.

She didn't have the best memory either, often forgetting even herself.

Who exactly is she?
Hayashida Meiko.

Meiko was a kind child. She was loved by her family. She was loved by all her neighbors. She was loved by everyone that met her. She loved herself. Or did she? She couldn't remember.
Meiko loved helping others. She'd help elderly people cross the road, weed her neighbor's garden, or comfort a lost child looking for their mother. She was perfect. Everyone around her thought so. Except her.

Meiko just wanted to be a hero. It was her dream, her passion, her only motivation to continue living. She wanted to make sure that everyone always had a smile on their faces. And she wanted to be the cause for their smile. She had to.

Meiko herself was always smiling. Her face even started to hurt from smiling. But she did it so often that it became a habit. She desperately wanted to be a beam of sunshine to someone, to everyone.

Lucky for Meiko, the chance to fulfill her dreams was about to come true.

You see, Meiko's parents were both pro heroes and were awfully ecstatic to hear her dream of becoming a hero. So, they decided that it would be good for her to enroll to U.A. high school. Not only to become a hero, but to be under the influence of nice, normal kids. Why? They had their reasons.

To continue, Meiko had finally gained control over her breathing. She contemplated telling her mom about the frequent dreams, but decided against it, in fear of being bothersome.
The sun rose and entered her room, through her window. It shone in her eyes and instinctively, she lifted her hand to cover her face. In doing so, her vision became clear, and she noticed a pretty, purple butterfly sitting on her windowsill.

Oh, how she adored the color purple.

Meiko arose from her bed and walked over the her windowsill. She longingly stared at the butterfly, and slowly stuck her hand out in front of it. The butterfly was weary at first, but decided that she was harmless. It hesitantly climbed onto her hand.
