Sindy sat alone, having been mad with Derik. They constantly get into small quarrels, especially over legal problems with Derik, but they get over it. She sighed. What could she possibly be doing with this relationship? It's not going anywhere, plus the dude was 30 years older than her. She, a 20 year old, dating him, a 50 year old? She hadn't really questioned it before, having just found her interest in him and his young spirit, but upon his exit of his 40's, he's really been feeling the age finally. She figured he'd managed to stay feeling younger from all his past with drugs.. those do tend to cause euphoria, even after withdrawal.
She flipped on the TV to a Bachelorette show. She never knew what they were, but she guessed it was time to find out. She ended up falling asleep on the couch, and Derik passed by, turning off the TV and putting a blanket over her. He kissed her forehead and walked away, wishing her a good night.
She didn't remember her dream, though she woke in a cold sweat. She cooled off and made some breakfast, having made up with Derik wordlessly.
A few weeks later, Derik was set to trial for his prior drug charges, in which he had been issuesd an ankle bracelet for already. He ended up getting convicted, not just for possession, but for selling and distributing.
Sindy now sat alone on the couch, watching Truman. And when she fell asleep, there was no one to cover her up and wish her good night.
She moved out, and went to search for something to do with her life, something meaningful. Maybe she could finally pursue her passion in design-or maybe find a temporary job until she got somewhere decent to stay and eventually get a higher pay. Either way, she had hope for her future. She had courage to stick her head out high and hope for better things.
And all that did was go downhill.
It was dark, and she was walking home to her apartment after work. She didn't even see the figure before it smiled and approached. The blood trickled down its body, dark sanguine red..almost black in colour. She blinked multiple times, and couldn't even scream before she found her own blood pooling on the ground, turning dark.
