Honour Killing

Two pyres are burning side by side

People say it's an act of honour and pride.

The dead girl who is burning on the left pyre

Having inspired by her own wish made a love affair.

The deceased boy on the right pyre belonged to the same caste but different culture.

The innocent boy was a librarian by profession

And the poor girl was involved in nursery education.

They happened to be met in a village fair

Since then they developed a love affair.

It was love at first sight when a pouring of shower

Made them bound to take shelter under a tent at near.

Two pairs of eyes looked at each other till the rain was falling

And expressed the feelings of love having a face of smiling.

In this way two hearts come close together

They swore to have a happy journey in life forever.

But making a love is crime with the same cognomen

This is stringent law of Khap Panchayat against such relation.

The father of the girl also did not approve this act

But the father of the boy was ready to accept this legal fact.

Who would listen to whom? Khap Panchayat Pradhan already gave a dictation

They must face dire consequence for violating religious regulation.

So the next day early in the morning

In front of huge gathering,

Both of them put to death by lynching.

Boy's father helplessly standing at a distance went on sobbing

This is not an act of honour killing, it's a crime

Rather it's an act of killing of honour, which is against the law of Divine!
