"Hey" Alex called out as she walked out of the class room ahead of him.
She turned to face him with half a grin and a raised eyebrow.
"hey yourself," she quoted him from the first time they met.
He chuckled "A) Stop stealing my lines and B) What are you doing Friday evening?" he asked as they began walking together towards the exit gates of the school.
"Probably nothing," she answered - too truthfully.
Mentally scolding herself for not thinking quicker and having a cooler response like hanging with her non existent friends.
"Perfect. Party at mine and your invited." He whispered grinning and nudged her playfully.
The invite or the casual touch caused her stomach to fill with butterflies. She wasn't sure and didn't care because she felt high.
"Cool, well I guess I have nothing better to do," she attempted to answer cooly.
Although she was trying to act cool and not care too much she couldn't wipe the big grin from her face. Something about Alex's smile always made her grin back even when she tried not to.
"I can give you the details on the way to the ice-cream parlour if your still keen?" He offered with one raised eyebrow as if daring her.
"Sounds like a plan, Stan," Jane said, again wishing she had said something cool. Something not like her.
"Stan? I hope you're not playing the field on me gorgeous." He winked at her.
She smiled back and turned to face the busy road. The idea of going to his party with him excited her. She couldn't help but wonder if they will spend all night together. She felt a little confused, he seemed so flirtatious and fun but she wasn't really sure if he was into her. She admitted to herself that if he was she was a little bit into him too.
She noticed as they walked together that many girls were turning to staring at her. Shifting uncomfortably it was so awkward being the new kid. When she looked up and glanced around the second time she realised that they were staring at him.
A few people stared and a few of the rather jealous girls from their Maths class gave Jane glares that went unnoticed by her.
Apparently according to the whispers and beeps of phones the word had spread around the school fast that the hot new guy had invited her to his party uptown with all the Bellevue kids. Not that she knew, but everyone else in the school knew of Alex by reputation.
"So what's the go with Friday night?"she asked a little keen to be spending more time with him.
"Nothing major, just at mine. No parents this weekend. All the normal people." He answered.
"Who are all the normal people?" She queried him, curious if it were all the same people from the last party. She couldn't help but worry that included the brat pack.
"Everyone from Bellevue, well not everyone technically. But a large crew from there, a few from East high that I met and were cool," He said.
"Are you from Bellevue?" She asked in surprise.
"Yeah, but then I went to East High for like two weeks. Now I am here... For how long... who knows?" He rolled his eyes.
"Why do you change schools?" She asked quietly as they were all very close distance together.
"I got kicked out of Bellevue. I got kicked out of East High. I am attending here now. But who knows how long that will be before I f**k up again. I have a bad habit of ending up in the wrong situations at the wrong time," he said shrugging as if it were normal.
