"for fucks sake", billie muttered as she rubbed her eyes, her vision blurring once again as she tried to keep her eyes focused on the computer screen in front of her.it had now been three days since billie last slept, and over a week since she'd slept more than 2 hours.
she was exhausted yet couldn't find it within her to go to sleep, she hadn't intentionally avoided sleeping at first but now, it just seemed like a waste of time especially not now when the dates for her upcoming exams just got released yesterday.
she was pushing herself beyond her limit to guarantee she got the top grade on every exam, she didn't know what she'd do if she didn't.
she never let lyra know though, most nights she snuck out of the room whilst lyra was asleep and took herself down to the library where she studied for the rest of the night.
she knew if lyra was aware that she was no longer sleeping, she'd worry and find away to stop her.
she couldn't let that happen, not only was the upcoming exams keeping her up but also the nightmares of the party that plagued her mind each time she dozed off.
she still hadn't managed to scrub his touch off her skin.
her mind was constantly racing, afraid he might find her again, she was never going to put herself in that situation again.
even if it meant upsetting lyra.

lyra had noticed billie's strange behaviour over the last week, her tics were a lot more noticeable than usual, the subtle eyebrow twitch had turned into a full head jolt.
she was also being a lot more friendly and touchy than normal, the constant hugging and want for attention but also didn't want to be asked questions, and then she would disappear at night and the blonde wouldn't see her until breakfast.
she was getting worried and she didn't know how to approach it.
"did you know peas are poisonous?" billie asked, slamming her tray down on the table nearly causing lyra to jump out of her skin as she looked up at the black haired girl.
she looked exhausted.
"nope?" lyra asked staring at the peas on her plate preparing herself to hear about this topic for the next thirty minutes.
and so the rant began, under any normal circumstance, lyra would've grown incredibly bored and gone into her own world to pass time.
but seeing the fascination gleam in billie's eye whilst she talked, using her hands to explain her point whilst looking so content and comfortable talking to her made anything she said interesting to the blonde.
"— not all peas are poisonous though but knowing this school and miss miller", billie carried on, "they probably are so i wouldn't eat that if i were you"
lyra glanced down at her food letting out a soft sigh, "i didn't like peas anyway"
"anyway i need the toilet, don't let anyone steal my food", billie ordered before leaving the table.
as much as lyra loved seeing this more talkative side to billie, it all came quite suddenly so the blonde couldn't help but think if there was anything else to it.
her thoughts were soon cut short by a boy, maybe a year or so older than her, taking a seat in front of her, his hair was a sight to behold a mixture of blue and pink but the thing put lyra off the most was the smirk plastered on his lips.
"um hi?" lyra spoke unsurely raising a brow at the guy in front of her.
"your lyra right?" the boy spoke confidently, "billie's... friend?"
