addie yawns as she walks down the streets of new york towards the crime scene she is supposed to be checking out with some of her co-workers that she hasn't seen or spoken to in four years, she is on the phone to her mum and sister, who she was actually allowed to have contact with during the whole undercover operation, "are they giving you mandated therapy?" chris, addie's mum, asks.
"yes, ma" addie responds with a grimace as she looks up and sees two pigeons fighting over a hotdog above her, "just finished my first one"
"did you talk about the freezer?" sarah, addie's sister, asks in the background, addie can hear a shuffle over the phone as the blonde holds her arm over her head hoping not to get shat on by the pigeons, "did you talk about the freezer?" she asks louder making addie laugh.
"yes, ma'am" addie responds with another yawn as there is a shuffle again and addie removes her arm from her head when she gets under some shelter.
"we'll be back in new york in the next couple of weeks" chris informs and addie nods slowly even though she knows her mum can't see her.
"okay" addie smiles.
"make sure you're sleeping and be careful" chris orders making addie laugh, "i'm serious, adelaide"
"i know, ma" addie laughs as she spots her favourite ice coffee stand, "gotta go, business awaits"
"love you" chris laughs.
"i love you too" sarah shouts from the back making addie laugh again.
"love you, both" addie says before she hangs up the phone and puts her phone into her back pocket, "morning, mr archer" addie smiles as she walks up to a small stand with a man that sells ice coffee, she used to go to this stand every morning before she went undercover.
"detective lewis" mr archer smiles as he sees the woman, "where have you been?"
"if i could tell you i would" addie laughs, "ice coffee caramel syrup please" she tells and hands the man a dollar.
"you haven't changed" mr archer laughs as he takes the dollar and starts to make her coffee, "where are you heading?"
"b and e. down there" addie replies as she points over to the police cruisers and tape at the end of the street.
"right" the man laughs as he hands addie the coffee.
"i'll see you tomorrow" addie smiles as she sends the man a small salute before walking off down the street towards the police tape putting her badge around her neck as she does, a uniformed officer smiles at her as he lifts up the tape making addie smile and send him a small nod as she walks into the building, "someone call for a detective" she asks making amy santiago and jake peralta look over at her.
