A week. A week had passed since after the talk between her and Josh. Nothing had changed at all. Since the heartbreak, since all the words he said that brought her down, nothing changed at all. He still intended on ignoring her. He still intended on ignoring the situation and even through it all, Maya still intended to look for the signs. In his eyes, in small quick glances. But nothing hid in those ocean blue eyes of his, and the only person who was casting quick glances between the two was herself. The only time they ever had conversation was when they cast timid "hellos" so there was no raise of question. But often, on his part most of the time, he just said nothing to her at all. Maya tried not to act bothered by this because she didn't want to start any unnecessary drama. He was just a boy. But between that, and Riley's anger with him for it, and between the feelings she couldn't ever push away due to the longing for her lips to be on his, skin on skin contact, and still that unmistakable heartache, it was hard to just avoid it and forget it altogether.

Last night the girl returned home, mostly to check on the condition of the apartment and her mother, though she knew she wasn't probably going to find her home. Beside a few quick hellos and texts here and there, she didn't talk to her mother a lot lately. Really, besides Riley, everyone seemed to be avoiding her and for some reason, it always had to do with the situation of that stupid word called "love". Stupid kissing and hugging. Stupid cuddling and stupid words. Why was love so stupid? Stupid. Stupid. Stupid. And plus, Katy wasn't in love with that guy, she couldn't be. He was nothing but a crook and she wondered if he was beginning to show his true colors around her yet by flirting with a nearby neighbor's daughter or something. Needless to say, Maya knew she felt a little bit lonely. She knew she was a little bit jealous. Not just because her mother found someone who at least made her happy, but because it was someone who made her happier than her.

The next morning she got up doing the things always done for good hygiene before slipping into a new outfit, a sleeveless black and white striped collared shirt and jeans, deciding to straighten her hair. It wasn't long before a few indecisions that her and Riley decided that they would meet at Svorski's for a talk over a cup of coffee. Riley said that it was urgent, that she had an idea. Maya really hoped that it wasn't about Josh, that she was over the whole thing because she didn't want to deal with any more disappointment and she didn't want Riley to also blame herself like she had the last couple of days. "If I never sent him to that Bistro, you two would have never kissed and if I never sent you to the window he would have never said those things." That was true but then again, what if she never did? She would have never got to experience the feeling of summer sun and rain, to get such a great feeling running through her bones but then again, was it worth it? Wasn't it better to share it with someone who actually felt something in return?

When Maya arrived, she instantly spotted her best friend, who was sitting down, wearing a cute flowery red romper, her brown hair spilling over her shoulders. Riley spotted her, too, her eyes lighting up, smacking the table lightly with her hand as if she had the most important news in the world to tell her. Before Maya could even sit down, Riley spoke, "You have to go to the Jerry's Horse Stables today!"

Well, that was an unfortunate bidding.

Maya lips lifted into a small smile. "No. Shouldn't you be mentioning this to Ranger Rick? I'm sure he'd have a dandy time birthing milk and doing whatever else you do." she said, cocking her head slightly, taking a seat across from Riley who shook her head, scoffing. Maya's smile lifted more at the reminder of Lucas, the boy that Riley had a crush on and kissed and also the boy that moved in from Texas and Maya often teased. She began to pucker her lips, doing a kissing effect but couldn't hold it for long because Riley began to blush, covering her face when Maya laughed.
