Previously: Hailey grabbed her stuff and ran down the huge stone bridge. She was going to be earlier than the others in her year. It was late at night so she asked help from lighting bugs to light the way to the double doors. Her cat companion and familiar Midnight ran on the stone railing of the bridge. The double doors opened to reveal Headmistress McGonagall.
Hailey smiled happily at a familiar face. "Good afternoon, Headmistress." "Good evening, Miss Potter. You are early as Snape said you would be, sit tight they are on there way." "Alrighty!" She leaned up against the hallway and rested her eyes. "Is that your new familiar?" Hailey opened her eyes and smiled happily,"Yes she is, nightshade is very powerful." "I can sense that, her eyes are beautiful." She held out her hand and the black cat purred and brushed up against her hand.
Sometime later: Hailey almost practically tackles Draco, he stumbled back and forth as he blushed bright red. "Draco!" He was confused about who on earth who tried to tackle him in public. The mysterious person grabbed his hands and smiled happily at him. He went to insult her but then became speechless at how cute she looked. She had a lightning bolt scar on her forehead, to the left. Has baggy bangs to cover up her scar. Long messy and wavy auburn hair with black roots and streaks. Golden brown eyes with black rings. Slightly tanned white skin with light freckles. His eyes widened and his mouth gaped open slightly. "Hailey, is that really you?" She continued to smile as she giggled softly. "Sorry if I startled you. I was just so excited to see you again. I'm glad, I'm not all alone. I have a familiar face who I consider a friend by my side." He brushed her off and scoffed. "Yeah, well of course you are excited. I'm Draco Malfoy. I'm going to be one of the strongest wizards in history." She just smiled brightly at his tough guy act.
They walked into the great hall and went into shock over how amazing it looked in person, especially up close. Hailey instantly looked over at the table nearest to the window panes. The professors were already sitting down and waiting. Hailey spots her Uncle but only looks at him with a mixed expression of disgust and depression. He looked her way at the same time, he glared at her with a rude expression. As if she was a stranger and meant less nothing to him.
It was Sorting Hat time. Hailey hears a bunch of familiar last names in the Wizarding World. And then she heard, Ron Weasley, Hermione Granger, Neville Longbottom, Draco Malfoy and then her own name. People gasped and started to gossip as expected. She was used to this action by now. She approached the stool with a brave face. She was feeling all sorts of emotions. Her uncle and her best friend's father is a Death Eater. He will probably try to groom his son into becoming one too. She wanted to make her mother proud and become stronger but she wasn't sure if becoming like her uncle was the right path for her. But then her past actions leading up today haven't been very heroic. "Take a seat." Headmistress McGonagall said, kindly. Hailey sat down and felt the hat get placed on her head. "What's this? An internal conflict between two houses? Hufflepuff or Slytherin? That's a good question. What do you want in the future? Glory, fame, friends, money, or something else?" She closed her eyes and whispered softly,"Everything, I want to get everything I desire. No matter the cost or sacrifice." He laughed amused,"What an excellent answer! No Hufflepuff would say that, Slytherin house it is! Hailey Potter destined for all those she desires, your journey starts now!" She got off the stool and rushed over to where her best friend was sitting. He welcomed her happily. "We've waited long enough. Let the feast begin!" Headmaster Dumbledore shouted out as he held up his cup of wine.
After the feast Slytherin house students followed the head boy to their dorms. Draco walked next to Hailey still trying to act uninterested but he was failing terribly. Hailey stopped in the common room gawking at everything with a shine in her eyes. She went down the stairs only to see her hawk Ace and cat Nightshade. She smiled so bright it lit up the room.
