Volume 2 Chapter 2: Spider's Nest?

Previously: Hailey reached out towards the light at the surface as she choked on the liquid. "I heard your call. I will grant you this wish and you'll be free from the shackles of the dark lord. If you want allies to fight against the dark lord then go seek out a giant spider in the dark forest. Once you win over the queen the rest of the dark creatures will soon follow your lead. Now awaken and make the best of your second chance." She gasped for breath as burning feathers fell all round her body. "It worked." She grinned widely with relief painted on her face. She grabbed Snape's hand and gripped onto Draco's shaking hand. "What worked? Damn brat!" Lucius shouted out as he pointed his wand at her head. "I'm step closer to permanently killing him. He had a part of himself in me. This lightning bolt was the mark of a bit of his soul being engraved on mine. Me dying and being revived by Fawkes makes it so the next time he dies. I'll be able to kill him for good. I just have to destroy a few things he has his soul connected to. And he'll be considered history. And I'll be the girl who lived and reigning champion of this world." She got up from the ground and walked towards Lucius without any signs of fear or hesitation. "You like the power of your station in the ministry of magic. You like to look down on mudbloods and muggle lovers. But do you really want the system to be destroyed and have only one on the top? That leader won't be you. That leader doesn't even care about you. He can easily crush you beneath his feet and move on with his life. The future I offer you is freedom. You get to continue reigning supreme over others you think is weak and fragile. I don't give a fuck about what you do with your power or during your free time. That's none of my business. I just want to live my life free from any fear of dying and become the strongest Auror I can possibly be. But I can't do that if you kill me. So how about you temporarily change sides. If it gets too much for you to handle then you go back to being a heartless bastard." He pressed his wand up against her forehead roughly. As he scowled at her grimly. "You really do have a silver tongue, brat." "Maybe so but I rather speak the truth than operate in the shadows. After all…" She switched to Parcel Tongue. "I'm not a coward." They all tensed up at her speaking Parcel Tongue so casually. She grabbed his wand and smirked smugly,"I get it you aren't very brave or courageous. But that doesn't mean you aren't cunning or smart. You can survive this war if you just play it smart. Your son is your heir to greatness. He has your blood and intelligence. He's going to be a great man one day. Probably even better than you. But that doesn't mean you should just pressure him to follow your path. He has his own dreams and desires. Allow him to blossom and bloom into a wizard capable of growing beyond your current position." Draco was bright red in the face as she continued to speak about him so positively. "You really like to push boundaries. You are lucky that your speech caught my attention or I would have iced you." She let go of his wand and he put it away and turned to leave. She smirked smugly and just before she said something else rude he spun around and backhanded her with his ringed hand. She hit the ground bleeding from her face. "I'm not one to mess with, if you ever talk to me like that in front of someone again. I'll do more than backhand you." He stormed out of the room. "Are you alright Hailey!?" Draco helped her stand. She began to laugh at his words and actions. "As expected from a man of his standing. I'm surprised he accepted my speech. Uncle, we should definitely leave and let him cool off. Draco remember what I said about Dobby and we'll hang out some more soon." She ran towards the front door with Snape trailing behind.

Small time skip: Hailey hugged Hermione as she went to greet her at the door. She looked behind Hailey only to see a very stern looking Professor Snape. She shrank in size at the sight of the bane of her existence at school. "Why is he here?" She whispered softly to her friend. "Oh he's a family friend so basically my uncle and current guardian. Don't mind him, today is our day. So what's first on the list?" "We need to take a car to the mall first of all." "Uncle, can you drive us to the mall?" He nodded his head and walked towards an invisible car. Its doors open by themselves. "Let's go!" Hermione was pulled towards the invisible car.
