Unbreaking the Broken (Ghost x Reader)

Going out

                                  Ghost POV

Before going out to the bar with the others I had a talk with Soap.

"What am I supposed to do Johnny? She isn't going to be at our base forever."

"Ghost don't you think this is good for you? You haven't been close to women or matter of fact anyone for the longest time. Maybe it's time for Ghost to back off and let Simon out." He replied.

I shook my head at him. He doesn't get it. There's something off about Frostbite. The way she acts around Graves. I haven't been able to talk to her about it yet but I plan on it. Also earlier and went to go to her room and the door was open a peek. She was typing on a phone that I hadn't seen before very fast and she looked kind of annoyed and upset. She also threw the phone into a bag. Was she talking to someone back at her own base?

"That's why it's bad thing, it's not good for her. She'll get attached to me and leave. She'll go back to her own base with Shepard."

Soap sighed at me.

"You know everyday we risk dying. That's a lot worse than her just leaving and going back to her base. At least then, you could still see her. But us, we are risking our lives every single day. Are you going to stop talking to me too? Just because one day I might die and you'll never see me again?"

I looked at Soap. I didn't like when it talked like that. About death.

"Forget it Johnny." I said and left his room.

Frostbite was in the hall when I left his room. Did she hear our conversation?

"Hi." She said and wrapped her arms around me. I'm still not used to this. I mean I should be since Johnny is rather touchy but with her it's different. I wrapped one arm around her waist.

"Are ya ready?" I asked her. She nodded.

"I just need to grab something from my room and I'm all set." She replied and turned towards her room. I started following her.

"You can just wait for me out there, I'll be two seconds." She said and went into her room and shut the door.

This is what I mean by something is off about her.

       
                                   Y/N POV

You walked into your room and grabbed the burner phone.

"I think Ghost thinks that there is something up about me."
You texted him.

"Why would he think that?" Shepard replied.

"Overheard a conversation. I don't know maybe i'm paranoid. Do I tell him?"

"No. What would you need to tell him your past for?"
Knew he would say that.

"But it's not my past now is it Shep? You know as soon as I'm done here I'm going to come back and you're going to send me to another base to do your dirty work."

"Ah there's the Frostbite I know. Thought 141 maybe softened you up."

You left him on read. You wernt about to tell Shepard you were getting attached to them.

You left your room to see Soap and Ghost in the living room area.

"Now i'm ready." You smiled at them.

"Alright let's go." Ghost replied.
"Wait. Where's Johnny?"

You gave him a weird look. Soap was right next to him.
