Chapter ten
"She's different." Rosy replied bluntly.
"What do you mean? She's still a Synth." Rae repeated, sounding like he should add an 'dah' to the end.
"Did you see that? Or are you just blind! She glowed!"
"So what? She's still one of them!" Rae said disbelieving. I just stood there, eyes wide, watching the argument unfold, hoping for Rosy to win.
"Look at her and tell me that she acts like one of them!" Rosy declared, pointing her finger "She doesn't fight, she doesn't talk about the righteous ways of the Light and try to convert us from our evil ways."
Rae just grunted.
"Just try to be civil, she's different, I know it."
"It could be just an act."
Rosy's eyes narrowed "Now that just there didn't look like an act to me." She looked fierce.
"Um guys, hate to break up whatever you guys are arguing about..." My voice still had an hysterical edge to it "What are you arguing about?"
Rae moved out of Rosy's way as she pulled out a set of keys and unlocked my arms. I stepped forward, rubbing my wrists.
She tried to give me a hug, but even though she had just released me, I hadn't forgotten her cold glare and the fact hat she had kidnapped me.
Her face fell from the happy smile, to a hurt expression, but she brushed it off.
"Could you please tell me what's happening?"
"About that... It's complicated... So how much do you all ready know?" Rosy asked, her voice riddled with hesitation.
"Nothing except you kidnapped me, he called me a creature, and you keep talking about Synths." I replied, listing them off on my fingers.
Rosy sighed "this is going to take a while..."
