Summary:

The news of your betrothal to Aegon II Targaryen spread like wildfire. You heard the news from your servants, not even your father. But it still didn't surprise you one bit. Couple days later, you were dressed and in a carriage heading to King's Landing.

You looked at the Prince you were supposed to marry in a couple days. Sitting on a bench, the two of you were given a moment without anyone present.

Your eye soon caught his wandering ones as he smirked, getting ready to say something before you cut him off.

"You are just as broken as I am." Aegon was shocked. You read him as if he was an open book. The smirk fell from his face immediately.

"Pardon?"

"I can see it in your eyes. You are broken and you mask your true feelings with this kind of behaviour. I know because I am the same." You looked deeply into his eyes, and now Aegon saw exactly just what you meant.

He saw the deeply rooted hurt in them, how the shine was missing, much like in his.

"I will be your wife soon, and I do not share. I can promise you two things, Prince Aegon. I can learn to love you, if that is through our pain then so be it, and I can also promise that if I find you or hear about you being with other women, I won't be merciful. You will find your cock in the mud and I won't even blink."

Somehow, Aegon believed you.

He saw the fierceness, the fire right under all the pain. Took him a moment to realize that you weren't the Queen, the authority in your voice would have fooled him.

"I believe my parents never loved me. I will never be enough for my mother or father. No matter what I do." he confessed and you took his hand into yours, looking at you.

"My father deeply hates me. He would give me to any man just to get rid of me. I remind him too much of my mother. She died while giving birth to me. He loved her deeply, he often hit me if he wasn't ignoring me."

"You truly believe I am a man worthy of your love, Princess?" he looked at you, eyes filled with hope, and you shook your head. Shattering his already broken heart.

"Not right now. You are a broken man, as I am a broken woman. However, we can be strong, and grow together and then, you will be worthy of my love, and I will be worthy of yours." the glint of hope reappeared him his eyes.

He had only known you a couple hours and yet you showed him more passion than anyone in his life. He believed every word you said.

"I drink a lot." he confessed, for some strange reason. "I do bad things when I drink a lot."

"And I always have a knife on me, no matter the gown I wear." his finger ran up your hands to your elbows, feeling your skin as he never looked away from your eyes.

"Do you truly believe in me? You haven't known me for even a day."

"I believe your eyes, Aegon. I believe that I know more than you might realize, people talk, yes, but upon seeing you... I realize who you truly are." Aegon nodded. His facade crumbling in your hands. Could he be in love already? This felt very different from the feeling he would get when he was with a woman or he was drinking.

This feeling was overwhelming and powerful, was this passion? True passion?

"We could grow together. Princess of Dorne," he spoke as he nodded and so did you.

After your wedding, your father left, leaving you with House Targaryen, he no longer had to fake a smile. He got rid of you finally.

You stood in Aegon's chamber, looking around, first you noted how small his bed was, not made for two people, and then you noted the... toys next to his bed. Then your eyes caught the wine.
