Happy new year!!!

Fireworks blasted off into the night sky, decorating it with numerous colours as if they were painting on a black canvas. They shone so brightly it glittered in everyone's eyes, even though the noise was deafening to all ears.

It was as if the fireworks were a calling to the students of Chungdam.
Yes, Haneul, Sunwoo, Jungkook, Jacob and everyone in the group chat all happened to be looking up to the night sky, whether it was from their bedroom, balcony, kitchen, living room, even bathroom, you name it, they were all looking up at the night sky.
All thinking of the same question.

"Will 2022 be a better year for me?"

"WE HAVE A MATHS EXAM THIS FRIDAY??"
"Haneul, did you not read your emails?" Jeongyeon asked her.
"We were sent emails over the holidays?"
"Oh dear Hani" Yuna face palmed.
"I'm not even ready!"
"Yah don't worry! You're amazing at maths anyway, you'll be fine" Jeongyeon patted her back, "besides you still have time"
"Yeah and then there's me who can't even do well even if I revise" Yuna sighed.
"Hah and this is why you guys should've become an humanities student" Jisung smiled smugly.
They all glared at him "shut up!"

During the day, Haneul was told that she'll also be having a chemistry exam in the same month.

"Oh for God's sake, can this school actually get a rest?" Haneul groaned.
Jacob laughed, "well, what did you expect? Of course this school was gonna give us tests when we come back. We're never safe"
"Thank goodness I have nothing for bio, well for now at least"
"Meanwhile, I have a physics exam too"
"Jacob, you're really smart you'll be fine. Hopefully I'll be fine too, it's just maths and chem anyways"
"Haneul, don't worry. You still got time and you'll be fine for sure"
"You seem to be very chill about this" she laughed.
"Meh, I don't care really" he shrugged.
"So I'm guessing you haven't been revising during the holidays either?"
Jacob bursted out laughing "who do you think I am?" he carried on laughing. Hysterically.
"The holidays are not for revision, only for genshin impact"

Haneul was just eating her breakfast at break time, since she doesn't have time to in the mornings, when Minho came up to her.

"Hey Han, can we talk for a sec?"
"Sure, is everything alright?"
Minho took her hand and pulled her to a quiet place in the corner of the common room, "I have something to show you" he whispered as he got out his phone.

He started scrolling on his phone, his face having a cute concentration look as he was looking for the thing to show Haneul.
"Look"

He gave his phone to Haneul.
And her heart shattered.

It was a photo of Jungkook and Mina and it looked like they were in a photo booth together.
It looked as if it was a screenshot of Mina's story because the caption said, 'with my favourite bunny'.
So, were they a couple now?

"So, are they together now?"
"Jungkook didn't confirm it to me or anything but I know he definitely likes her a lot"

Haneul said nothing but silence.
She didn't even show any emotion whatsoever.

"I'm so sorry, Haneul. I wish I could help, really. I don't even like Mina and I don't think anyone else does either but he's just so blind"
"It's fine"
Minho stared at her blankly, "are you sure?"
"Yeah, I saw it coming anyways. I was planning to move on last month but I was struggling so, thanks for showing me that" she smiled at Minho.
"Ah, I still feel bad though"
"You didn't even do anything" she laughed, "you actually helped me a lot, I feel relieved now"

She was lying.
Partially.

"Minho!"
The two turned around to the sound, only to find out that it was Mina.
"Oh God help me"
"Have fun" Haneul grinned as she tried to contain her laughter whilst Minho smacked her arm before joining in the laughter.
They both said bye to each other before going their separate ways.
