JJ's pov
The second I walk into my room, I see Charlie sitting on my bed.
I groan and turn around to walk back out, but suddenly, she's shoving me against the wall.
"What the hell was that, JJ? What the hell did you do to them?" She hisses at me.
"Let go of me and I'll tell you."
She lets go of me, and I walk over to my bed, grabbing my photo album from the nightstand, before sitting. She follows, and sits next to me.
"Kailey's my ex," is all I say.
"I knew that already you idiot," she glares at me.
"That's why the triplets hate me. Because I'm her ex."
"No it's not. There's more to it. I'm not stupid."
"They hate me because I broke up with her. Because I broke her heart."
"Ok, JJ. I'm going to need a better explanation to this, because you're not making any sense."
I sigh before saying, "Two years ago when I started working for Oliver full time, instead of just whenever he needed me, I had to break up with her. I wanted to bring her with me, but I didn't want to risk her life."
"Our life is dangerous, and I didn't want to put her in any danger, so I broke up with her. At first, she didn't get why I was breaking up with her, so I had to say the words I never wanted to say to her..."
After a minute when I haven't said anything, Charlie speaks, "What did you say...?"
"I told her that our whole relationship was fake. I didn't actually want her to have my kids. I even told her that I never actually loved her..." my voice cracks at the end.
"And because of this, the triplets hate me for breaking her heart. I've gone back to their house a couple times over the last two years, but I was never aloud to talk to her or see her."
"They told me they won't let me near her, because they won't let me break her heart again. They said that I already hurt her enough, and I don't need to hurt her anymore."
"Oh, JJ," Charlie says as she hugs me.
"I'm so sorry. Do you want me to talk to them? Help explain a little more?"
"No thanks, Char. I have to do this myself. And I should probably also explain to Kailey what I meant about 'my sisters and I went on a mission.'"
"What?" She lets go of me, and backs up a little so she can see my face.
"I showed her the box of pictures that I have of her from the time she was little until the first day of this school year. She yelled at me and told me I was stalking her, and I may have said that 'Xavier sent my sisters and I on a mission.'"
"And she didn't question you?"
"She was too pissed off at the time, so she was busy yelling at me about stalking her, rather than what I meant about my sisters. But I'm sure she'll be asking about it shortly."
"Damnit, JJ. You're an idiot!" She yells as she hits my shoulder.
"I know, Char. I know," I sigh, putting my head in my hands.
"Go!" She yells at me.
"Go?" I question as I look up at her.
"Go tell her! Explain what you meant!"
"Oh no. Not right now. Right now, Kailey and I need to have a long conversation that needs to be finished."
"So finish that conversation, and then tell her about the girls."
"Alright, fine," I say, but make no move to leave, until Charlie pushes me off the bed.
"What the fuck, Charlie!"
"Go! Now!" She points at the door as she laughs when I stand up, rubbing my butt.
Welp. Let's go talk to a pissed off Kailey. Lets hope she's not as scary as Lily is when she's pissed....
