Bitter sweet

My childhood home, the very home I was born in. The only place I knew my whole life and now I'll never see it again. The 2 story plum colored home is the one I shared with my aunt and uncle, who moved in once my parents passed. They treated me like I was one of their own. Besides my parents dying I had a pretty good life growing up, and now that I'm moving off to college it's such a bittersweet feeling.

"Luna?" My aunt called. I walked towards the house, I was greeted by the cutest border collie, we got him a week after my mom and dad died. I chose his name, Mylo, a mix of my parents' names. London my mother and Myles after my father. I try not to think about the fact that I can't take him with me. But I trust he'll be in good care, so I walk farther into the house searching for my aunt. She was standing in the kitchen with a large smile plastered on her face.
"Yes auntie" I say with a confused face. I can tell she is happy about something but I'm not sure what.
"You know how you couldn't afford the apartment you really wanted?" she asked me.

"Yes" I replied in a slow low tone to show that I'm not understanding what this is about. Her lips curl in a shape to indicate that she's about to tell me, but uncle jimmy rushes in and says
"Did you get to tell Luna about how we got her the apartment or is she still gone" my jaw dropped.
"You guys got the apartment for me" I tears of joy trickle down my cheeks. My aunt says yes while also looking my uncle up and down for spoiling the surprise.
