After I left the Thrombey party I went to work to work that night. I usually hate it when I was scheduled for a double shift but the money was nice.

I was in the back getting ready and looked at the wig.

"You thinking about not wearing it?" Ivy asked and I sighed.

"It started as a gimmick I mean Lucky...ha ha funny but now I'm like I think I just need me." I said and she nodded.

"What if you just added some green extensions to your natural hair that you can put in and take out for your shift." Ivy said and I nodded.

"Yeah I think I will look into that. Thanks." I said and she smiled.

"So how was your fancy party?" Ivy asked as I started to put on my make up for the stage.

"A disaster. He wasn't the one who invited me." I said.

Ivy knew all about Ransom, not the whole story but most of it, I mean she had seen the tattoos.

"He wasn't?! Who did?!" She asked.

"His grandfather. It was his birthday so he wanted me there and wanted me to see Ransom." I said and she sighed.

"How did it go?" Ivy asked.

"Well like I said. I smacked him and threw a drink in his face." I said and Ivy laughed.

"That's my girl." Ivy said.

"Ivy get your ass to the stage!" Our boss yelled and she rolled her eyes.

"I want more details when I get back." Ivy said and I nodded and continued getting ready.

At the end of the night I was putting my tips and pay in my purse as we walked out.

"So you want to go out and get a late dinner?" Ivy asked and I shook my head.

"No, I think I want to get home and get off my feet. Morning shift, party and night shift, my feet are ready for slippers." I said and Ivy laughed. As we reached the parking lot I saw the car, the Beamer then I saw the man leaning against it...

"Who is that?" Ivy asked and I could tell she was drooling.

"Put your tongue back in your mouth, it's Ransom." I said and she looked at me in shock.

"That's the ex?" She asked and I nodded.

"Yeah, I'll see you tomorrow okay?" I asked and she nodded. I kissed her cheek as we hugged and I walked over to Ransom who was parked beside my car.

"What?" I asked leaning on my own crossing my arms.

"I watched you tonight. No wig anymore?" Ransom asked and I shook my head.

"It was a stupid gimmick." I said and Ransom nodded.

"I like natural better." Ransom said. "Just wish you wore clothes."

"Wouldn't be a good stripper if I did." I said.

"How can you ever have a life with someone and they accept what you do for a living?" Ransom asked.

"I'll figure that out." I said. I then looked at the time. "Ransom, it's late. I've had a busy day. What do you want?" I asked.

"Can you at least go get a cup of coffee with me?" Ransom asked and I sighed but nodded.

"Fine, I drive myself and we meet at the diner." I said and he nodded.

I got in my car and drove off. I wasn't sure why I even agreed to this. I smacked this man and threw a drink in his face hours ago.

Once we both got there we walked in and got a corner booth. We ordered some cups of coffee and just sat there.

"One of us has to talk Ransom and you wanted to meet up." I said and Ransom sighed.

"I need to apologize for what I said tonight at the party. About your job and you know...the other thing." Ransom said and I huffed a laugh.

"The baby Ransom, you can say baby and I won't break down into tears." I said and he sighed.

"I don't know if I won't break down if I say it." Ransom said and I sighed.

"Ransom, we had a chance to fix what happened and you didn't want to." I said.

"What makes you think I didn't want to?" Ransom asked.

"Going out, drinking, doing only god knows what or who while you were out! I mean Ransom you wouldn't come home until the sun came up and I would be lying to myself if you didn't smell like booze and perfume that wasn't mine." I said and he groaned.

"I never slept with anyone else." Ransom said and I groaned.

"No, just what strippers?" I asked and he half nodded.

"Right..." I said and he didn't say anything.

"Listen Ransom I want to accept your apology, I really do..." I said.

"But...?"

"But if you are going to apologize go back to the beginning when this all started. To you leaving. That's when this all started. I loved you Ransom, I wanted a future. So we were thrown a curveball. It happens. I just need to hear you say you're sorry for leaving all those night." I said and he shook his head.

"Before I apologize for that, you need to apologize." Ransom said.

"For what?!"

"For leaving me, breaking up, whatever you want to call it. You just left in the middle of the night." Ransom said.

"Which I told you I would do if you went out the night. You went out, I left. I warned you." I said and Ransom shook his head.

"I came home that morning changed. I was going to tell you I was done. You threatening me, scared me, I didn't want to lose you so I was coming home to work on our family." Ransom said.

"You could have figured that out at home that night with me but you didn't! I threatened you. I will not apologizing for finally snapping." I said and Ransom groaned.

"Fine, then I'm not apologizing for anything. Tonight, all the leaving, none of it. You don't accept it." Ransom said. I groaned threw some bills on the table and went to get out of the booth.

"Running away again." Ransom said.

"From you, it's what I know how to do best." I said and left the diner.
