The next day I woke up laying in a hospital bed. I groaned as I went to move and Ransom was instantly by my side.
"Hey, easy please." Ransom said and I gave a weak smile up at him. He leaned down and kissed my forehead.
"I'm sorry." I said and him as I had tears in my eyes.
"For what Clo?"
"For still doing this job." I said and he sighed.
"Clo, when I was driving behind the ambulance I didn't know what I was going to find or see when they got you out. I knew how you were when they put you in. I had so many things running through my head and the only one that seemed to be sticking out was I was going to lose you. I can't lose you Kitten, we are just getting us back. You came back to me and in an instant you could have been taken away. You are my other half and if you leave me I can't handle that or survive." Ransom said and he had tears falling down his face as did I. I placed a hand on his check and he leaned into my touch, then placed his over mine bringing the palm of my hand to his lips and kissing it. He continued to hold it after that. "Kitten please, if you do anything for me in our lives, please quit the damn club. I will support you until you decide what it is you want to do but please for the love of god, quit the damn club." Ransom said and I gave a small smile.
"Okay."
"Okay? That fucking simple?!" Ransom asked, shocked, and I chuckled.
"I was already thinking about it. When you got your private dance I was going to talk to you about it. I don't want to do this anymore Ransom. My life is with you." I said and he smiled.
"My life is with you too." Ransom said.
"I love you, I never stopped. I hated leaving you and staying away." I said and he shook his head.
"I love you, I never stopped either. I didn't give you a choice and even though it sucked, I think we needed the break to grow up, I know I did. You are it for me Clover." Ransom said and I sighed.
"Please don't tell me you are proposing right now." I said and he laughed.
"Would it be that bad if I was?" Ransom asked.
"Ransom, I'm beat up, bruised, ugly, in a hospital gown. I really don't want to get engaged right now, like this." I said and he nodded.
"But you are open to a proposal...?" Ransom trailed off and I nodded.
"Yes, eventually." I said and he smiled.
"Good to know. Actually what I was going to propose was something else..." Ransom said and I looked at him oddly.
"Which is what?" I asked.
"You move back in with me." Ransom said and I sighed.
"I think you need to know something before I do...it won't just be me." I said and Ransom looked at me oddly. "Hand me my phone." I said and he grabbed it from my stuff. I pulled up my photos and showed Ransom a photo.
"This is my Kitten. You know how I'm yours, well this is mine." I said and Ransom laughed.
"Really? You have a cat?" Ransom asked and I nodded.
"I planned for the two of you to meet last night." I said and he just half nodded. "So if I move in, Kitten comes." I said and he laughed shaking his head.
"Fine. But calling you Kitten and their name being Kitten is going to be confusing." Ransom said and I smiled.
"She answers to anything, never really her name." I said and Ransom smiled. He leaned down and kissed me again.
"The cat can come. So you really going to move in with me?" Ransom said and I nodded.
"I need to be back in your bed. I need some good sleep." I said and Ransom nodded.
"Same here Kitten." Ransom said and I smiled. As I started to relax I then panicked.
"Oh fuck! The hospital didn't contact my parents did they? I mean as like emergency contacts or anything." I said and Ransom shook his head.
"Funny story, you never switched it over to your parents from when we were dating and living together. So they called me when I was in the waiting room waiting to come back." Ransom said and I laughed.
"Perfect. I just don't want to see anyone until I get better." I said and Ransom said and he nodded.
"We can handle that. I promise no intrusions." Ransom said and I nodded.
"Good." I said and winced in pain he groaned.
"Why don't you try and get some more rest?" Ransom asked.
"While I do, do you think you could go to my apartment and feed Kitten?" I asked and he sighed but nodded.
"My keys are in my purse, it's the purple key is the top lock and the blue key for the door. Her food is under the sink in the cupboard." I said and Ransom nodded.
"Fine, text me where you live. Also I will bring you some clothes to change into for when you can." Ransom said and I nodded.
"Thank you." I said and he stood up. He leaned down and passionately kissed me.
"Maybe even pack you up while I'm there." Ransom chuckled.
"We will get me moved soon. Just clothes for when I leave and feed my cat." I said and Ransom nodded.
"So bossy." Ransom said and I smiled.
"You love it."
"I love you." Ransom replied.
"I love you." I said and he gave me small kiss, grabbed my keys and headed out of the hospital room.
