We made it back to Ransoms and he opened the car door for me. I smiled as he interlaced his fingers in mine as we walked inside. I looked around.

"Have you changed anything?" I asked and Ransom shook his head. He helped me take his jacket off.

"My favorite interior designer did this place, why would I change it." Ransom said and looked at me and I blushed. I remembered decorating this house, it was a complete war half the time with Ransom.

"Suck up." I said and he laughed. "Do you mind if I take off my heels?" I asked and Ransom shook his head.

"Make yourself at home, it was your home once. Is whiskey okay?" Ransom asked and I nodded.

"Of course it is." I said as I sat on the couch with my legs under me getting comfortable. Ransom came in with the drinks and handed me a glass.

"Thank you." I said and took a sip as he took off his shoes and got comfortable on the couch close to me. I looked at the amber colored liquid in my glass I was holding.

"Ransom?" I asked.

"Kitten." He answered and I gave him a small smile.

"Did you apologize in the hopes you could bring me back here and I would sleep with you?" I asked.

Ransom didn't say anything. I sighed and went to get up. He grabbed my hand and looked at me.

"No, I did not apologize so you would sleep with me. I apologized because it was time. It's been a year and a half and I have been miserable without you in my life." Ransom said and I sighed but gave a small nod.

"I know that miserable feeling. I feel like I need to tell you why I ran though. It was more than you just going out." I said and he sighed.

"What else could it had possibly been?" Ransom asked and I could tell he was trying to keep calm.

"Right before we lost the baby, I was going through that old dresser in the spare room moving out some of your stuff thinking I could paint it for the nursery. Well as I was moving out your stuff something fell out, a ring box..." I trailed off and Ransom dropped his gaze and sighed.

"The ring." Ransom said and I nodded.

"Yeah, the engagement ring." I said and he sighed. "When Ransom? When did you buy the ring?" I asked.

"Right before you found out you were pregnant. I was already planning out the proposal and then you said you were pregnant. I was so excited but I didn't want to step on that moment for you so I started planning something else. I was going to propose the night we went to Harlan's for dinner to tell everyone in the family but then..." Ransom said and I sighed.

"Why not after? I was here waiting for you to make a move." I said and Ransom sighed.

"I don't have an answer Clo, I wish I did." Ransom said.

"I understand it. I don't like it, but I understand it. I don't even know if I would have been in the right mindset to accept if you asked me." I said and Ransom nodded.

"I feel like a complete ass though. If I would have just proposed you and I could be here, married, having sex, making babies..." Ransom trailed off and gave me a wicked smirk and I laughed.

"You're such a jerk." I said as we laughed. I took another drink of my whiskey. Ransom moved closer to me on the couch and I sighed as he placed a hand on my thigh and I placed my hand over his.

"I meant to tell you, you look great tonight." Ransom said and I smiled.

"Thank you." I said and Ransom just hung his head.

He took my glass from me and set them both on his coffee table. He leaned in and placed a hand on my cheek.

"Kitten, I want to kiss you. I want to kiss you so bad." Ransom said moving closer to my face.

"Then do it Ran." I said and he smiled at me using the nickname I knew he hated.

He leaned in and gently kissed me. We didn't break apart and I placed my hand on his chest as he pulled me closer to him. I resituated and moved to be closer to Ransom. He smiled as I did and he moved his lips down my jaw, to where my neck and shoulder connected and licked it. He then blew on it and I got goosebumps. This was his signature move and it always made me weak.

"Ransom..." I moaned and he nipped the same spot. I smiled as he continued to kiss up to my ear and nibbled on my earlobe. He moved to my shoulder moved the thin strap down and kissing all along the shoulder. He worked back to my lips. He placed his hands on my back and laid me down on the couch. Once he had me down, I broke the kiss apart as he positioned himself between my legs.

"Ransom, I don't want to sleep together..." I said.

"Nothing said we were, I just want to make out with you kitten." Ransom said and I smiled. "And maybe get this dress off. It's very constricting." Ransom said and I laughed. I reached down and bunched it up. Ransom growled and I removed it and I winked at him as I tossed it to the floor.

"What are you going to lose?" I asked and he smiled at me as he took off his shirt and I shook my head. "More." I said and he laughed but stood up and took off his pants and I nodded. He then got back on the couch and I smiled as he positioned himself between my legs again.

"This is much better." Ransom said and I smiled. His lips were back on mine before I could even think or agree with him. Ransom pulled away slightly and I looked at his tattoo on his chest and ran my fingers over the angel wings and then the dates.

"I don't like this last one." I said.

"Then come back to me and I can add that date. My body is our timeline. Come back to me." Ransom said. I snaked my arms around his neck and pulled his lips back down to me. I just needed his lips on mine and his body against mine. I missed this feeling. This was the Ransom I wanted back in my life. Was he able to stay this way or go back to his asshole way tomorrow?
