*JIWOO*
After handling the project back to its main course after a few weeks, I was finally able to fix it.
I need some proper rest right now. Tomorrow's the party.
I knock on the door of the idiot's apartment and she opened up along with her own stupid smile. "Jiwoo, you're back!!"
If she can smile brightly like that then it means that she was able to do it. That's great. I knew I could trust her.
Now that I'm relieved I can finally take a... rest.
"Jiwoo?! Jiwoo, are you alright?" The last thing I heard was Dumbo's shrieks and calling of that nostalgic name.
When I gained sight, I saw myself in this blasted space where that damned Wizard was standing opposite of me and showing an eerie smile.
"Spring is almost at its end. Soon, the leaves will turn green and the sun will shine brighter and hotter. Summer will arrive. But with summer rarely comes rain so before this season ends, there should be a... finale. How about that?" He laughs.
"What are you going on about now?" I cross my arms, not understanding whatever he's talking about.
"A storm is brewing and it's on its way here. Slowly and steadily... It'll ruin you and my beloved. Not just one storm but two. The other is just a minor aftereffect." In the middle of the dream world, he just sits down, floating.
"It doesn't matter. We can overcome it no matter what."
"Of course you can. With your memories at least. But without them, you'll just foolishly step on her feelings and yours too." He chuckled almost evilly.
"What am I doing here?" I change the subject, obviously bored. "I recall you said that only those with a strong wish can enter. I don't have a wish right now."
"I get lonely too." He starts putting on a pitiful act. How idiotic.
"For a creep like you to get lonely," I snort, "that's highly unlikely." And then I recall that idiot's smiling face.
"Oh, don't worry. When the game ends, I'll be sure to watch over... our darling heroine."
I ball my hand into a fist. She's so close yet... I'm not even aware. If I keep getting close to her then it'll only be more and more painful. What can I do? Without my memories, then the me in the real world wouldn't know.
That idiot made such a risky promise to this Wizard because she didn't even think much of it.
"Well? Have you thought about my wish from before?" I ask. We met again one week after I moved into Dumbo's house and when I found out about what she did, I asked the Wizard of something.
"I have. And just to be sure, you do know what's the cost of a wish, do you not?" I can feel that he's asking that sarcastically.
"Of course I do. A part of a person's memory." It would be absurd to think that I still didn't know until now.
"Well then, I accept. Let's enjoy this game until the end, shall we? Have fun in the three seasons you have left."
I lied. Sorry, Heejung. Even though I told you that I'd come get you as a man that's far better than just a rich guy, you'd have to go through all of this mess again.
I have the money, the knowledge, the looks but with this same personality, how can I...
In this game, failure isn't an option. It's the path to a game over.
But until the end, I won't give up no matter how many times I have to try until I meet you again and be at your side either smiling or shouting at you so you better do the same, alright, Dumbo?
