2. Krishna

The competition had begun , The participating kings were called upon one by one to give their try . But the task seemed to be very hard as most of them were not even able to lift the bow . Others who were able to lift it , failed to shoot the eye of the rotating fish.

Vrishali was watching the competition while playing guessing game with bhanumati on whether the current participant would win or not .

Everyone heard loud noises of a whole lot of chariots approaching nearby from the outside of the venue . Everyone's eyes turned towards the source of the sound , waiting to see what was happening outside .

In a short moment . Vrishali saw a dark skinned man wearing a crown adorned with peacock feathers approaching towards the stage . She got so curious about this person .

Vrishali : look , that uncle is so cool right ? Everyone wears a crown but who attaches a plume of peacock to it . He is so charming . I think I should ask him to give me a few feathers , he seems to have lot of it.

Bhanumati : vrishu , that is Krishna , king of dwaraka . The most powerful kingdom in entire aryavarta . Dwarka's army is feared by every other kingdom . Please don't go and ask him for feathers . It will be like insulting him .

Vrishali : I heard about dwaraka . My friends always says that yadavas are so powerful . And many stories about them .

Vrishali was so excited to see  krishna .  It was Krishna's attire with the cool looking peacock feathers adorning the crown that fascinated her more towards the leader of dwaraka .

Draupadi was watching the competition sitting on one side of the stage . Her eyes were also scanning around to see the participating kings . One of them was going to become her husband, she even knew the name , she had even seen his portrait . Her father had shown her his portrait and narrated to her of his many achievements as a formidable archer and warrior. She had instantly fallen in love . Her eyes were searching for her future husband who was the only one capable of completing the task  , her father had told her so . She wondered why there was a need for a swayamvar if they knew it was only him who could win in the competition .

She kept searching and suddenly her eyes fell on a lady . She was so beautiful , she was smiling while talking to a lady sitting beside her . Her smile was so infectious that a smile naturally lit up her face . But the next moment the smile was replaced with a frown . Everyone around her had told her that there was no one more beautiful than her but to see someone who was so much more beautiful than her was painful . A handsome man was sitting on the other side of that gorgeous lady. Draupadi could easily guess that it was her husband . She was wearing a thick vermillion on her hairline indicating that she was married . Draupadi felt more jealous that this lady was having so much more than she could ever have . She tried to forget about all those stupid thoughts , she tried to replace her negative thoughts with postive ones like she knew that Arjuna was the best warrior in entire aryavarta and not some unknown king of an unknown kingdom . It made her feel better .

But how much ever she tried she couldn't take her eyes of that lady . She wanted to know more about her , just when she was about to ask her sister shikandi who was sitting beside her she heard the sound of a commotion of someone arriving .

Draupadi was so happy to see krishna who was her best friend and mentor . It was Krishna who convinced her that Arjuna was the best choice as a husband for her . She didn't know why but she loved and trusted her sakha more than anyone else . She was worried that krishna might not be able to attend her swayamvar but seeing krishna made her happy .

Drupada announced that krishna was the chief guest of the swayamvar and made krishna sit in the stage near draupadi .

Krishna : sakhi , you are worried about something ,  Tell me who is that person that's troubling your thoughts.

Draupadi : sakha , how do you read my mind so well . You are right , the reason is ... ( She felt awkward to say but she had to )  Everyone around me told me that I'm the most beautiful in the entire aryavarta but look there , that lady , she is so beautiful . It makes me sad that what I had been told was not true .
